Yep, got the album on vinyl as well. One of their best from the earlier period.
I actually dig the Mike Viscera-era Soldier of Fortune too. Takasaki is a bit of an underappreciated shredder, methinks,

My fear is that it will be just like the GMW Bullseye I ordered from Lee years ago....it was an awesome idea on the morning I committed to it, three months later when it showed up not so much I've got a KNE 1 hum San Dimas style body here now that I've gone back and forth on getting a hot rod flames Dan Lawrence paint job on but just can't pull the trigger.....might just have to order a Star body and let it percolate

I have been checking out vids of these new kramers and I really want one. Back then you could not get me to touch one, now...I am jonesing hard for one. Even asked an old friend if he still had his baby blue one with a floyd and 2 duncan distortions...he said he sold it in the 90's....

I classmate introduced me to Loudness in 1984 by loaning me the English version of Disillusion - I was hooked instantly, Crazy Doctor, Dream Fantasy, Esper.....great stuff. And Akira's Exploder solo! I saw them opening for Stryper w/ TNT and Akira was a God among men. That 8 finger technique was SICK!

Same here. He played me Exploder, as we were both heavily into the Shrapnel guys. I still love the production on that, how they have a close mic on the guitar (like micing an acoustic); so you hear the pick attack on the strings. He really had a Gary Moore vibe on that record, but still his own thing.

Love Loudness. I remember picking the cassette up at Kmart just based on the name (Loudness Thunder in the East) and cover. Hard to believe I’d still be listening to it from time to time ~35+ years later.

Absolutely. In fact he borrows liberally from Moore's "End Of The World" solo in "Exploder."

Got to meet them back in the 80's. They were friends with my guitar teacher at the time. I think they did some music for cartoons together or something. But they were very nice, and real serious about making music.
