I just really never understood why he was such a complete an utter idiot.

Yes, I get that Guns was big during a time before the advent of the cell phone with the built in camera, but COME ON! Do you really need to ridicule through your mic and/or jump into the crowd and physically assault a FAN of yours, just because he's taking a few photos of you doing what he paid to see you do? What a MORON.

He might go down as the worst case in history of a true "rock star" self destructing and destroying his career. Guns 'n' Roses truly is almost a forgotten band at this point. The current iteration of the band is like a circus side show. It's truly sad. Honestly, if I WON free front row tickets to see Guns, I wouldn't go. I couldn't care less about Axl, the current lineup or the predominantly trite music it has put out.

Feel the same way buddy. Axl is a clown but GnR's first few albums (especially the UYI records) are pretty high on my list. I was just getting into music at that time...

BTW, I think Phil Anselmo may have destroyed more mics than Axel...?

Totally agree - AFD is a HUGE album in rock history. But GnR are forgotten - all due to Asshole Rose.

I love that Slash has a solo career that eclipses the current GnR sideshow. I'd never even consider going to see that crap now.

If cell phone vids existed when GnR first hit the scene, that band would have died right after the first AFD tour. The fact that most fans didn't realize what an idiot Axl was is the only thing that kept them from being dismissed immediately.
 
"Better" is a sweet ass tune from the new lineup though, I must say. Tasty leads on that one.
