More than half his set list are these newer shitty songs with crammed arpeggio passages and the whole thing just becomes a runaway freight train barely able to stay on the rails... he does play some of the classics and it was good to hear Fire and Ice but man, get your lexicon together and play some actual good songs you wrote instead of this sloppy shit. Guy has become a parody of himself with every passing year. Feel terrible for that band as well, his timing is all over the place. His attitude is just, I lead, you bums follow. Ozempic Yngwie is a mess out there!

Beating a dead horse. I am all for rocking as long as you can but I don't understand how you can keep playing the same shit for 40 years. My playing has changed so much in 40 years because my tastes and knowledge has. These old metal guys need to move on musically and personally..

I prefer to watch his younger videos myself if I do. His music for me is best listened to in small doses. Amazing groundbreaking player, but after a while I get ear fatigue.

Problem with that is if he indeed decided to change his style and say start playing flamenco or jazz or something people would complain and say he abandoned what he was known for and bitch about that.

Perfect example would be when Gary Moore switched from his hard rock shred style to the blues and many didn't care for it nearly as much or look at when Lynch for a time started playing with less gain and trying to sound more like Jeff Beck and people complained that they didn't like it as much and wanted him to return to his original style.

Your damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Making money playing guitar is more important than growing as a musician.

Yeah, and I guess he can still play whatever he wants when he's not putting on a show.

I like him to put down the strat and pickup a Les Paul and put out a killer heavy rock record myself!

He's Yngwie, who are any of they? Not to just be a contrarian, but it's his show and they were hired to do a job and the job is to make him look as good as possible and to please the boss. If he doesn't do his part, that's on him. Honestly never saw much in the guy. Was/is a great player, but he's been a parody and a demonstration of everything wrong with guitar music and rock stars for many decades now.

I never liked his playing...

I heard someone at Guitar World forum from 20 years ago describe his music as sounding like Nintendo music played fast on a the guitar. If I remember games like Castlevania, this is somewhat true. I don't really love his technique because I find it too clean, which is crazy to say. But most importantly, I don't really like the compositions. It's sort of like listening to faster J.S. Bach on the guitar, which I'm not the biggest fan of Bach. Randy Rhoads had a much more appealing blend of rock and Bach, at least for me.

Love the random assortment of “any Marshall they could find” to create the backline. Probably cleared out a few rental companies 😂

What the hell is that drummer doing in Fire and Ice? I skipped around to some songs, but his drumming sounds like garbage in at least that song. Long live the Maestro.

In fact they cared for it so little that Still Got the Blues became his best selling and highest charting album.

Your preaching to the choir as I like both versions of Gary Moore myself, but many of the old fans complained and wanted him to go back to the rock stuff. I like both versions of his playing and even when he's playing the blues it's still overdriven with plenty of gain and sustain!

LOL a bunch of old dudes who can't fucking play alternate picking above stepdad speed , and don't listen to anything heavier than the black album shitting on yngwie, classic
