Early December 2016, I took advantage of an online retailer's sale, and got a Jackson JS32 Warrior in Snow White. My plan was to use it as platform for experimentation, pickups, trem, etc. Well, the damn thing was so nice, it's been the only guitar I've been playing since I got it, and it's one of my cheapest by a longshot. I got a 20% off coupon, and got another one in January, this one is in satin black. The pickups aren't the best, but a little tweaking of my modelers/amps and they sound just fine. I'm friggin' amazed at how nice these sound, feel and play. The fit and finish is better than acceptable for the price IMO; I don't expect much for sub-$400 guitars, and figure if it's good, I can make it better with a few upgrades.

I'm starting to question my more expensive guitar purchases LOL.

I wish they'd release a slime green or kandy purple JS32 warrior... I may get another and have the body painted!

There is something awesome about cheaper guitars that really bring it...

yeah of the low end guitars by the bigger companies are great $300buys a lot of guitar these days

To be honest, I have five or six USA Jacksons and I end up playing my import Jacksons and MIM Charvels more than I do the USA's. No idea why, I just gravitate to the cheaper ones. That said, all mine have upgraded Floyd's and pick ups so that makes a huge difference.

I had a made in India JS something or other Jackson. The fretwork was perfect. Really dug that guitar, and it was only $300 brand new.

Making me want one.

I've had a few over the years and IMO they're his or miss. I had a PS4 and in 1997 they were like $500-$550 new. Great guitar, crap pickups and probably cheap hardware tho but it played great and was solid.

I later had some dinky variant that idk the model of and everything about it was bad and it played like shit.

Never tried a JS tho and if they're that good for the money I'm interested.

Charvel/Jackson went downhill after Made in Japan. [like most guitars]

You wont find me spending $1000 on a Mexican guitar.

Id rather wait for a sweet deal on a used Gibson or similar.

JS pick ups are still pretty crap but I look at that as no biggie. Let face it a HUGE number of people spend silly money on a les paul and then swap out the pick ups as well

Yeah I've replaced most pups in guitars I've had. Hell I paid like $1,400 for an S540 when they were brand new in like 2009 and the pups were garbage.

Funny how back in the day, USA guitar companies took a lot of flak when they introduced cheaper guitars made in Japan or Korea! Like it diluted the brand, "cheapened" the more expensive USA guitars' image.

Today, they are made so well (with the same CNC machines), cheap foreign made Charvels, Jacksons, and Gibsons are pretty decent guitars - and nobody is slamming the companies for putting them out.

Different times I guess.

If by "Gibsons" you mean Epi, they're made with "Phillipine mahogany" with veneer sides, tops & backs.

The MIJ guitars have always stood for quality rather than "quantity" [like MIC] in their selection of exotic woods & craftsmanship.

I don't think highly of Chinese guitars & amps they cut way too many corners.

I have 2 MIJ Fujigen Les Pauls that rival Gibson Custom Shop. One piece backs, long tenon, Indian rosewood, Matter of fact thats why Gibson moved to China.

I have an Epi Custom Shop 335 that sounds okay but its no Gibson.

I actually think China makes better semi hollow bodies better then solid bodies.
