I'm not a huge watcher of Phil McKnight but I was watching his last q and a vid and he was talking about sire and Eart guitars vs MiM Squire/Fender guitars. It got me thinking have any of you guys compared a Sire or Eart guitars vs a Greco or Edward's? I want to add a V and another single cut one of these days and the Larry Carlton looks appealing and the Eart loos pretty OK and SS frets are a big plus for me.

Just asking out of curiosity. Kinda leaning toward an LTD full thickness. But I'm keeping my options open.

there's another builder out of vietnam who does quality stuff also apparently.....yyz or something. they will build you anything you spec in their in house custom shop....for pretty fuckin cheap from what I understand.

LTD's are great. On average, I'd say they're solid, but once in a while, you stumble upon one that can rival an actual ESP.

I saw it was IYZ or something like that. I need a V and another single cut. The full thickness LTD seems like an easy choice as I've always dug the ones I've tried. I was just curious if there was anyone that had tried the sire or Eart

I had an ltd ec1000ctm....it was sweet....but it didn't les paul.....same as my charvel desolation sc....nice....but it doesn't les paul either. My greco....it les pauls like a mofo....if I get a chance to try a sire I'll jump. Hope my ramblings made sense bro.

This. I've got an old EC400 that I could get maybe $400 for, but it would practically take an actual ESP to honestly upgrade from it.

I've personally had better luck with LTD 400 series than 1000 series.

The best LTD's I've had have been an EX-401 and an EC-401. I also had a couple of 1000 that were good, but not extraordinary. And honestly, I don't think the lower-end TonePros bridges they put on those are all that great. You can drop in a Hipshot Tone-A-Matic, or something fancier and get a better with less tacky abalone, LOL.

I know exactly what you mean.

Greco is one that I keep leaning towards. I'm selling my VTM120 and my homebuilt 2204 next week. After getting the Atla I can't justify having either one of those. I'm either going to grab another single cut or a V. I ordered a new Rhoads but it got back ordered so I cancelled

I've had a few ec1000's, the only one that really stood out was one of the older red ones. It had a gorgeous top on it, but I never could get over those tacky inlays.

Have a look at Bootlegger (based in California; guitars are made in Korea will say on the website). They have Dumble inspired amps at a good price, not a Dumble chaser but they sound good in videos.

Solire and EART and highly inconsistent and while some say they play great, critical analysis show they always need work and uses bottom of the barrel parts. They shouldn't be mention with Greco or Edwards. I would put Greco over Edwards then a huge gap, the. Eart if you just want a banger or project guitat
