Lyndon Laney, founder of Laney Amplification, dies at 77

RIP.

I'm hoping the company keeps on keeping on. I've wanted to try a couple of their amps for a while.....

I had a TFX3 (solid state) and a TT50H back in the day. I also wish I had the attenuators I have now back then, because I might still own that TT50H.

I'd love to try the Laney LA30BL but I've never seen one in person. I'm guessing the build quality isn't all that per the price point but I have a tech who would probably handwire the whole thing if I liked it.

I think the LA30BL is made in the UK, but I could be wrong. The newer BCC stuff is. I've been interested in an IRT60H, but with 4 heads now, I'm not looking to add more stuff.

damn, didnt know he was so young, he had to be barely 18 when the company started. RIP

Unfortunately I gotta sell a few things to pay down some debts so it's gonna have to wait for a while before I can afford amps. I had vintage 2x12 Fender cab I sold a few years ago but I didn't care much for that cab anyways and it had some real shit Fender blue backs in there that didn't help it's cause. Always sounded kind of stuffy to me even with a few different speakers in it. I guess what I'm trying to say is even if I got the amp, short of plugging it into a Twin combo arrangement, I'd need a cab too.

Sad news, thanks for the work & what you brought to music.
