This is a trending M4 application (running it in the loop of a 100 head) that seems to be on the rise.

Questions:
Does this require any external line level devices between the m4 and the loop return?
Are you still running effects in the loop - that can be switched in with either the M4 or the amps preamp?
Is there a reasonable way of blending both preamp signals into the single power amp with this set up? And again, any line level/mixing tricks?
Along with that, do you do that or anticipate doing that?

thanks
Nick

I use my M4 into the effects return of a Mod50. No extra interface needed.

Do you just not use the two slots in the Mod50? Are you able to run the head without modules as a power section or do you keep a module in slot 1 that is not in use during a gig?

I ask because I just bought a M4, and it sounds awesome through the return and seems to play nicer with every serial effects processor I try. I love the mod. But honestly, the channel masters at full make the amp sound so much richer. However, this is to hot for every piece of gear I have put in the loop... But I can run the M4 almost wide open through a processor (MPXG2) in this case with better results than turning the masters down and/or a LLS for the serial loop.

Just thinking out loud...

Right now I'm just leaving the Mod50 empty when using the M4. When the time comes that I need 6 modules, I'm looking to getting a G-Lab 2 loop switcher or something similar, so I can switch between the head and the M4.

Cool, I didn't realize it was safe to use the amp without any modules installed. The more I use the M4 through the head the more I like it.
