Man, that must be one hell of a shop in DC to have all those amps in stock! Rare to see that....

Just don't say you are looking at Orange next though! :bash:

I was actually after an ENGL Fireball and ordered it from Josh, but decided against it a few days later. Was thinking it would end up being more of a Dual Recto type amp. So, I listened to plenty of Splawn clips and those are reasonably priced. So, ordered one up (the Nitro had to be built). Should be here soon.

Then I stumbled on the beast...Mike Fortin. The Bones is the amp I am looking forward to getting. Gonna have to flip a few of these soon though! Will have more shit in my house than a high end music store...

ah shit... :gethim:

yeah chucks,,,, they have a lot of high end stuff... the se had huge low end, biting top end.....but it had a weird tone overall it was not full and round like the diezel or the sig x, the sig x sounded really really good as well, but the vh4 just was were i locked in, just like my herbert which i bought 5 yrs ago and still love. The bogners to me are a one trick pony, but so is a splawn but the splawn has avery unique tone, it dont sound like other amps out there, very big, strong mids, no fizz.... but from what ive learned after owning a nitro and borrowing a quickrod, is the cabinet choice plays a enormous roll on those heads, more than any other head ive ever owned. So i ordered another nitro again, this time kt88s, and going to have two mills cabs made, one w/v30 for diezels and one fro the nitro, but which speakers...... im still investigating, erock did a clip with nitro and texas heats which sounded cool, aswell as he did a clip with nitro and v30s, everyone says no 30s w/splawn yeah, just listen to the clip. http://www.netmusicians.org they have tons of clips there. check the nitro clips.

Glad your digging the elmo. I love mine, your setting's are almost like what I Use. I am thinking of putting a set of gold lion kt-88's in it,from what everybody tells me it's the cats meow... ;)

i had the Gold Lions in when I got mine, and one was messed up, and I could not get any quick here, so I got the JJ's and they are AMAZING with the M90, meaner growl, definition at any amount of gain, and the punch is extrgaordinary. I set my eq's at treb: 2:30 mid: 3:30 bass: 11:30 gain: dimed volume: either dimed or noon depending on the highs, and the boost at noon to 3, and a cusack screamer with the level at 3 and the drive at 9, watch out, it is crushing!

were the gold lions a dramatic difference?

Thats a good question. I would like to know if the gold lions make that big of a differance before I buy a set..

Try JJ's, I liked them better than anything else!
