Made a Framus Cobra video with my friend from Unearth.

Your coolest video yet.

Did you buy the Framus, or borrow it from someone?

How do you like it next to your Recto?

I didn't like the amp a whole lot actually. EXTREMELY fizzy. I put 50 different preamp tube combos in that thing and just couldnt get it to stop sounding like a fuzz pedal under a mic (standing in front of a speaker cab sounds good though).

The volume is rather low on the 2 dirty channels as well so it may just need a retube who knows. Like my old Recto much better. Not as cranky.

Settings were the ones in the video on the Crunch channel. Gain almost maxed with the EQ just past noon.

Thanks for watching guys.

I agree with the above, my favorite clip to date from you!

So this was straight in, while you typically boost your Recto?

I think that the video sounded great!!
Really liked the Cobra when I had one.
definitely not a warm 'sweet' sounding amp is it...
Thing is super brutal on that lead channel.

Great vid and like you, I prefer my recto as well. :D
I had time with a cobra but it didn't have the "girth" for lack of a better term than my 2 ch triple.

Yup! Straight in. An yes I boost my Recto.
Oh then I'd say that Cobra sounded pretty killer then for straight in.

Cobra sounded very good here...I have a love hate relationship with that amp.

Did you try a boost? The Cobra responds just as good to a boost as a recto, if not better....

To me, that vid doesn't sound very "cobra-ish" to me at all. BUT, a rear load cab with I assume all V30's would explain that.

As far as the fizz, the trick with it is to DIME the channel volume, not 9/10, but dimed because there is a big difference. Combine that with some volume, a boost, and Cobras rip.

I wish I knew to dime the gain before I recorded! And yes it was a Mesa cab.

Didn't use a boost cause I didn't want to get shit from the Cobra mafia. It did sound super huge with a boost though.

+1 to this, when I had the Cobra diming the ch. volume made a huge difference.

Really, really great clip! Nice playing/tone and dude wails on the drums! Friends with benefits.

Bad ass!! you dont see too many metal drummers that play traditional.

+1 badass indeed. your best video yet

Sounds really good. great playing. I know of a band called Unearthed but they are a bit more heavy?

I liked the framus more than the faux 5150 tone you had going, it seemed like you cut the gain back here a good bit. sounds good that way
