Hey guys

Thought this was a cool video. I recall someone here also orders the Iceman guitars made in China like this and is into them. @rsm that's you who does that, right?

I thought @MadAsAHatter was the Iceman guy, but I don't know how he feels about the Chineses.
Yeah I'm the Iceman guy. @rsm is more about the Paul Stanley models.

I don't have any major qualms about the Chinese ones as long as no one's trying to pass the off as a real Ibanez (black market Chibson anyone? LOL). From what I've heard they can be hit or miss with the QC. If you don't get a dud that slipped through they're usually playable right out the box; just needing a basic setup.

I even thought about getting one or two and upgrading the hardware/electronics since they have colors Ibanez doesn't offer. I'm pretty certain rsm got a couple and did that. I decided against going that route. By the time I'd put the hardware and pickups I wanted into it, I might as well buy a new Ibanez Iceman, refurbish a used one, or better yet scratch build one myself.

I have a Bass VI version that's in the works. I rough cut the body and got some of the parts a while ago, then never got back to it. Other projects jumped the line. I'm close to getting my new workshop fully set up. So hopefully I'll get back to this build after the holidays.

I have two Ibanez PS10, Prestige MIJ. Both are black because that's all they offer.

I have two Chibanez, one is white that I put new set of DiMarzio D Activator-X, and replaced the black controls with white; the other is a purple cracked mirror vs $7K+ for a real one. I'd like a PS1CM but new they're $7500+

I buy the real thing when it's available or reasonably priced. Ibanez doesn't offer a PS10 in white and I wanted one; $7K+ for a PS10 with a cracked mirror top is excessive. I'd pay $6K new for one, but not $7500+ That's more than 2x the price of a PS10.

I did order a Chibanez in silver cracked mirror but it was not good; there was finish damage under the top coat on the cracked mirror; wasted $230 or so dollars;; the purple cracked mirror was fine, but not perfect. The white gloss is very good.
