My only Strat is also MIM. Works for me. The differences weren't that big of a deal to me.

I once went to buy a Teleacoustic and ended up going home with a sweet playing Ibanez AE-10 ( China).

My acoustic bass is from that series (AEB), I think. Held up fine. It's hard to keep track of what's what though. One year could see solid tops, and other years tops made from laminated glue.

Open up the cavities and look. Where were the pots and caps sourced from. How do the pickups sound. Yeah it’s subjective I suppose, but some folks have higher standards.
