I like his playing too but I kind of fell off in the whole Use Your Illusion era. Not so much because of his playing though.

Yeah the Axl drama was a bummer. Izzy leaving was a bummer.

Wasn't so much the Axl drama, I never paid attention to that. I just didn't get into the longer, softer productions. It was decent quality music but compared to the raw street feel of Appetite it kinda came off as elitist snobbery.

This for me too. They started off full of fire and energy then got self indulgent, and lost what made them in the first place.

this has happened to many, including the Cure (after Disintegration), and the Beatles, the Sgt. Pepper, the White Album and beyond were mostly self indulgent nonsense, except for a few songs by George. IMO.

They are definitely pricey but I was looking at some nice Mesas and Amplified Nations. Seems like 3k+ is getting to be standard pricing for a high quality top of the line new amp. It's crazy but it makes sense at the same time considering we all live in clown world now.
