daneyo is pretty much on point. But it really depends on what sound you really going after because both pedals are pretty good at just level boosting, with no gain used. I just recently discovered a great combination to the sound i'm going for which is a combination of an old tubecreamer for mid cutting through a live mix and a Fulltone FAT Boost 3 with just the level knob turned up to drive the power tubes a bit harder. The Fat boost 3 is based on FET circuit, which is what the old DOD and vintage OD's were in the 70's...almost tube like.

Side note...Havent heard a Fat Boost 3 yet, but I used to have a Fat Boost 2. Awesome clean boost. I really miss that box

The BB Preamp is like adding a gain stage if you set it that way. Lots of EQ control in it.

That's exactly why I love it so much. Every time I kick it on, it sounds like my amp, just with more tight gain.

maybe you know better, but the research I did kept mentioning RAT's. Either way it's definitely not a TS design!
