So, I 've been using an X2 Digital XDR95 for a while now. Don't get me wrong, I think they sound great and I was very happy with it up until last week when it started buzzing. There's some sort of internal fault or the rear 1/4" output is busted. Unfortunately Line 6 said they won't service any X2 products in the UK, so I'm stuck with a buzzing wireless and no one to fix it.

Can anyone recommend me a good rack wireless thats not X2? I only ask in this forum cos I know you all have impeccable taste in amps ;) and you clearly all have great ears. Bogner owners also welcome

Thanks in advance,

Johnny

X2

Seriously just check out some of the pro rigs Dave Friedman has built in his forum on the site and you can see what the top players are using.

I had a look at those rigs. I think I need something cheaper :D The most I'd spend is £500ish I guess.

Well I have been using Stageclix' Jack for some time now.. Digital, small and very good quality.. It's a Dutch manufacturer. I only used Monster cables before, but IMO this is just as good...

Imo Sennheiser rules and especially those models with a "huge" transmitter. You could propably fit one of the more expensive models into your £500 budget. They won't compress and suck out your tone way too much.

Maybe look for a pre Line 6 X2? There was a mod that Peter had for the transmitters you could put to use on other wireless system's that I think was suppose to make it sound more like a cable, it was putting a resistor in line with the jack or something.

+1 on Sennheisers though, if you don't stick with an X2. Maybe Peter could chime in with that mod and you could put it to use with a Sennheiser. The higher end model's probably wouldn't even need it anyway.

It`s sooo sad that we can`t use the Line 6 X2 here in Germany (Europe?!) because of the frequencies... There`s nothing you can compare to it...

I have no idea when it will be released, but from what I understand the G30 is like a X2 for the European market.

I've got a Pre-line 6 X2. I wish I could just fix it but I wouldn't know where to start. It's a real pity there's no support outside the US.

The Sennheiser EW572 and EM500 G2 look pretty good. I think the Samson UHF Synth5 and 6 look pretty cool too. Dual receivers, loads of user frequencies. Anyone used any of these?

Line 6 is coming out with a new wireless soon that is 2.4 gHz in the states. I believe Stageclix is at that level in Europe now, as is Line 6, which introduced these earlier this year in Europe. The difference is that Stageclix has 97 db signal to noise ratio and Line 6 is 118. Both Stageclix and Line 6 newer models are supposed to be as fine as a high-end cable such as Evidence Audio.

I have found Monster cables to be overrated and tone suckers that break down far too often.

I always have used the AKG bug wirless system. Slight tone suckage but not much. Makes it so easy for changing guitars as when we gig I have multiple tunings and just popping out the "bug" is so easy. Plus just uses one AAA battery. Love it.

I've been on some tours with various bands and the only wireless that NEVER caused any problem was the Shure ULX series.
They're expensive but I don't use wireless at all and this is the only thing I'd trust. Sennheiser EW500 G2 are good, too. But nothing under 1000 Euros is really sounding good and reliable at the same time.

What I decided today is that I will go on with cables. I solder my cables myself so I know in what i trust. And it sounds how I like it. So shit on jumping around like a bunny   Even with a cable I can move enough. And if you watch some DVD´s you can see that the most of the good guitarplayers in the world only trust in cables

I'm using it - shame on me :D

Any other references on the StageClix? Do you think it's worth the 500€?
