I recall it was the early no stripes with those trannys. I think,it was those with serial number under 1300 but I may be wrong. The Boogie Board would know.
And that's a great deal, IMO.
Blue stripes are the highest gain of all the Mark IIIs, and they have all the best features and tone, IMHO. That's why I have 2 of them.
The "no stripes" and many "black stripes/dots" have the Mark IIC+ Trannys. Your detective skills will also tell you I have a no stripe as well.
If you can get a Mark III and a cab for $1,000, it's probably already sold because this is a great deal...especially if this Mark III has a GEQ.
I'm on the Boogie Board too, and I see a ton of threads that you start here and over there. Brent, what amp are you looking to buy? What tones are you after? It seems like you're all over the place TBH. Last week it was a handful of threads about Rectos and trying to troubleshoot Rectos, and now it's Mark IIIs and trying to figure out if a Mark III has a specific tranny.
My advice is to not get hung up on what tranny a certain amp has. It's more of a collector thing. A great amp sounds great and a bad amp sounds bad. Period. If you didn't know, Mark IIC+s came with all sorts of trannys...from the exports, to Coliseums, to "100 watters", to "60 watters" and then throw into the mix that there are "full power" and simul-class options. By the time you figure out what tranny it has, someone else already bought it.
Go play it, see if you like it, and if it's close to what you want, then start a thread about what tones and features you want (ie. more gain than a Purple Stripe, less stiff than a Green Stripe, more warmth than a Red Stripe, ect.). This will help you out more, and we'll be able to help you better.
Not too hung up on trannies more hung up on having a thick full tone I recently acquired a Rev F and I love it I feel it blew markV away if I want anything less then that fullpower tone I just turn down gain or volume. Favorite tones I'll get back to,you lol
