Well if you want that Sykes tone from Blue Murder and the 87 Whitesnake albums you can spend less than 1k and get a Mesa Mark III. That's what Sykes used.

Yep. No doubt. The Mark III will nail that tone. BFG does some pretty good mods to emulate this tone as well. Very reasonable too.

Not a boogie guy but just listened to some clips and that amp is rockin! has some nice crunch and fluid lead tones.Maybe i should stop fighting the MArshalls and switch camps ;)

That sounds pretty sweet but would like to hear a better/longer clip. That amp has some cool and unique features.

Sounds great! Track seems doubled

Yeah I think it is.

I wish it were just one track so I get a better idea of the tone.

Yeah I know John used primarily the Mark III 300 watt head on Whitesnake 87/Blue Murder S/T. I was just asking about this amp is all and I am not going to buy it since I have my money tied up in two Cameron production amps. And I went back and listened the track and it does appear to be doubled.

I might have to find a Mark III. What do they go for these days?

BFG mods are the shit!!!   If I had extra cash to fund a Marshall and mods, I would have Brian or Dan Gower mod it.

Even though it's doubled I still thought that clip sounded better than any MKIII I've heard.

someone better buy this thing ! IT HAS HIGH GAIN PREAMP TUBES!!!!

The amp is mine that I'm selling. The clip was done really quick by throwing up an SM57 and using a Tascam Digital 8 track. I did double track the clip just to give an idea what the amp can do in the stero field. My idea of a sound clip is how fast can I put a mic up and record an amp without dicking around with knobs and effects or EQ and get a good tone. This one took about 5 minutes. I'm sure if I spent an hour with mic position and eq it could have been even better but I don't have the time. The clean channel is ridiculousy good too. This is the 4th Cameron I've owned, so I have a little experience with them and the best of the lot with all the features you could want. The amp is super clean too. I'm only selling it because I'm slowly getting out of the buisness as a full time thing. It's at rock bottom now so after this it will be stored for a while unless my neighbor Reb wants to buy it.

So is this an Ocean Mod or a hybrid type Ocean/Modern mod?

When I got it, I was told it's somewhere in between. I would agree especially since the style switch changes the clipping and feel of the preamp for it's respective decade.

What group are you with? You must be known. Are you talking about Reb Beach being your neighbor?
