Here is the rig I resurrected form tech hell. The signal path is gtr into wah, evh phase to rack. 1st loop of the gcx is the Trex overdrive then to the mesa amp switcher. #1 of the amp switcher is the clean which is the Gfroce into 2 twins. #2 is the line to the Tripple Rec. #3 is the line to the Radial Tonebone head switcher. Amp 1 of the switcher is the Bogner Uberschall amp 2 is the Two Rock [with Trex Replica in the loop]. Standard rhythm sound is the Recto w/ uber. Lead sounds are the Recto with the Two Rock clean sounds are the Gforce into the twins and the recto clean channel...... Now what's the other rack you ask? Well it's for his own personal monitors... The 3 palmer boxes [ one for each head ] go into the Mackie mixer also there are direct lines off the Gforce L and R now he has all the amps to mix. The lexicon is for a little rev in the monitors.. Here you go. DAVID FRIEDMAN/RACK SYSTEMS LTD.

 Looks awesome

What kind of cables do you use for the rack?

OOO, I see a michael angelo OD pedal in there, wonder what thats in front of ? The Mesa? Looks like that Mesa has been modded ?

So he's using the behringers for his monitor system, the uber and 2rock mixed into one sound, and he's using the clean channel on the recto?

BTW - I also would like to know what cables are being used.

Cool.
So you/he like(s) the Tonebone Headbone?

I didn't.... Hum city for me no matter the million things I tried when I had my MKIV and PeaceMaker (or 5150II). The thing seems to hate high gainers, but that is my experience. Tried ebtech hum removers you name it - no dice...

Well you were doing something wrong then. The head bone works fine with high gainers. What was your set up? Oh and the cable used was Mogami 2319. Dave Friedman

1] the mesa is not modded
2] he switches between the Bogner and the Two Rock
3] the Behringer is a monitor eq and has time delay to put the monitors in phase with the backline.
4] the headbone works great.

Wow...that is interesting. I used my headbone with quite a few high gain amps and it worked flawlessly....including a Mark IV you mentiion above, which I find to be one of the pickiest amps as to how it is connected.

Dave - while I don't work on racks very day like you do, I'm quite certain I know how to connect a simple device like the headbone. My setup was very simple actually. Guitar into headbone buffered input, headbone amp outs to MKIV and 5150II guitar inputs, speaker outs of amps back to headbone cab inputs, headbone cab out to a single 4x12. Everything connected to a single power conditioner. Crazy hum with either amp live. I tried everything, made triple sure of my connections, no dice. Changed cables, tried hum eliminators, no dice. I called Radial and THEY told me that the headbone just doesn't like certain amps, especially some high gainers...

I've gotten some pretty complex rigs working very quietly, no hum whatsoever:

For me, the headbone was a bust... YMMV...

What can I say - it didn't work for me, I tested every possible failure point... Perhaps I just got one that was messed up, I dunno... Like I said, I talked to radial support and after going through everything I'd done with it, they said, it just doesn't like certain amps... YMMV as I said...

Both amps hooked up with the ground lift switch engaged and both amps grounded. Uberschall is pretty high gain I think. Totally silent.

I'm not questioning that the unit works fine in the setup you created. All I'm saying is that it didn't work in my rig. Who knows... maybe there was something wrong with mine. Also, radial engineering was who told me it doesn't "like" certain amps... maybe the guy was ill-informed. wouldn't be the first time...

Not questioning your experience...I know things can be vastly different for different situations.

Just surprised that's all

No problems with mine, Steve.
