I've owned every Amp that you have listed
above, Several times over....and the one that
has the Saturation, Bottom End and Shimmering
Cleans that you're looking for is a Diezel, (Bottom Line)!!
I own my second D-Moll right now and it completely
Slay's!!!
I LOVED my XTC 101b, CAA PT-100/SE+ but they are based
mostly on a Marshall-esque Flavor but lacked the Foundation
Thumping Bottom End that a Diezel packs, straight out of the
Box. They all have plenty of Gain but the Diezel Saturates more!

The High Gain Amps that have the best Clean Tone is the Diezel
Herbert/D-Moll and the CAA PT-100/SE+, Period!!!
Sparkling, Crystal, Fenderish in nature, they all have it.
The VH4 & XTC 101b are a Close, Second place.
I am an expert on High Gainer's that can do it all...
Trust Me. I've owned them All at one time or another.

Have you owned an Einstein? If so how was it compared to the Dmoll? I had an Einstein but didn't dig it and have played several. But I spent a good amount of time with a Herbert and did like it a lot.

First off, I'm gonna state that I was outta control
with Amps but I've slowed down considerably.
As far as Diezel's go I've owned 2 VH4's, 3 Herbert's
2 D-Moll's and the Einstein 100.
The Einstein was OK but it was my least favorite Diezel.
It was a long time in between owning the Einstein and
current D-Moll, so I really can't recall the Tonal difference
between the two. What I do know is the D-Moll has many
Tonal qualities of the VH4 & Herbert, while not being as
Compressed and Processed sounding as the two. The D-Moll
has the Signature Diezel Sound but is a much more Open
& Organic Tone vs the VH4/Herbert. It has the Mid-Cut
Feature which can get you into Herbert territory with ease
and Channel 3 of the D-Moll is very reminisent of channel 3
on the VH4.
The Einstein wasn't anything special that made me want
to hang on to it. It was OK but the others do the
Diezel thing, so much better!!

Thanks, I was looking for an honest opinion and not the typical Diezel cheerleader type reply. The Einstein to me was really dark, soggy, almost too smooth sounding and no edge to it. I could see it vanishing in a band mix really quick against a Marshall. But I thought the Herbert was really nice. We have had plenty of Diezel's come and go among guys that know each other here. At Ralphs, Gainfreak, we had a Herbert and everyone liked it. But honestly, I remember we played a Mesa Tremoverb right after it and boosted it with a Tube Screamer and for heavy stuff it was just as good I thought. But the tremoverb is a bit limited for versatility.

I like amps that can do Clean, good crunch that can be dialed in to sound heavy, and another higher gain sound. And since I did like the Herbert the Dmoll has me curious. I did own a reborn multi watt Triple recto and it was pretty killer but it needed to be turned up to get that roar out of it. Boosted and loud they are killer but I thought it needed just too much volume. The good thing about buying a Diezel is you can flip them and not lose much, as long as you buy used.

Yeah Man, used is the way to go....
They're always For Sale in the Classifieds here.
I also owned the New Revision Dual & Triple Recto's
Very Nice Improvements over the Older One's but
still got Loose, when the Volume was up. It was
Tough to do Prog style Stop and Go Riffs, without
hearing the Spillover when you stop. The Diezel Herbert
and D-Moll were always Recto Killer's in my eyes,
with Midi capabilities and just a more refined tone,
without even needing a Boost.

Rhodes Colossus
This, I'm going on clips alone, but from that point of reference I'm still looking for something that is truly better than the Rhodes. There are some really incredible amps out there, more than ever, and so many options, but I just want a damn good clean channel and a phenomenal lead channel. The Rhodes Colosus is the richest, most versatile, just plain old fukn' killer tone to die for amp I've found. I'm dying to try one in person.
