I was looking at picking up a Mesa Mark V 25 probably later this year, but noticed that one of my local music stores has Mark V used for $1'765 and am seriously thinking about grabbing it it as the Mark V 25's go for $1,450 up here in Canada. From what I've been able to find $1'765 seems to be a decent price, opinions?

To those that have them or have used them:
- What cab do you use with it?
- How is it for practicing at home at relatively low volumes?

There was a guy up in Canada selling a Mark V on the forums here for $1500 or so…that was a CRAZY good price, and I would check to see if he's still by any chance selling it.

Overall, the used market on them seems to bring $1500-$1700 on them, and if you assume they're harder to find up by you, the price seems fair.

Personally, I find the Mark V is awesome at low volumes, and a great amp in general. I'm actually running one myself. Compared to the little time I spent with a Mark V 25 at a store, I find the full sized version is actually better at lower volumes, as it allows you to switch all the way down to 10 watts, AND has both channel and master volumes. The one downside I found with the Mark V 25 for low volume playing was that the single volume knob took away some of the finer control at of volume in lower settings.

I play mine at home with a Mesa Recto 2x12.

Best on the hunt!

To give you a point of reference I am selling a mark v for 1500 local 1600 shipped. I wouldn't take less than 1500. 1750 is on the higher range prob Bc its at a music store

Thanks for the responses guy's, I've two on CL in my general area, there's a head going for $2,000 and a combo going for $1,900, which is why I thought the $1,765 might be a good deal. I'll take a look at it this weekend and see how much they are willing to move on price, if not I'll wait. I have a transfer/move coming hopefully this summer and it's something I really want, so I was planning on snagging a Mark V 25 after the move is all complete, but we'll see what happens.
