Hey guys,

Mark Abrahamian's brother is selling a 79 100 watt Marshall that Mark had, modded with his MOD 5. Let me know if you're interested and I'll hook you up with Jeff. I did suggest to Jeff that he may want to join here too.

Me too. One of the coolest, helpful and humble guys that's been here. RIP

Hey guys, someone PM'd me here saying that "this Jeff guy" had sent him a message on another forum and that he thinks this is a scam. If it's a scam then Mark's brother Jeff is doing the scamming because I can assure you that the guy selling this amp is Mark's brother.

I've had two Mod5's. A 50-watt clone done for me (clip: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=503988&songID=11221641) and an early 1959 reissue he did for another customer. Great player and a nice guy too, so I joined his messageboard when it was up and running. If I remember correctly, his '79 was the test bed for all his mod tweaks and ideas. Pretty much any clip on his Soundclick page that isn't for a customer is his '79.

If Mark were alive today, I'd send him an amp for his to duplicate that Trainwreck/Plexi mod his did once on his '79. He wasn't an EE or anything, but he had a great ear, tons of enthusiasm, and it seemed like he was getting ready to expand his line outside the Mod5 as he had a bunch of other ideas. R.I.P. Mark.

Wow.....

That is a killer amp played well.

He had the EVH nuances down perfectly.

Mark(RIP) was a great guy/player.I wish he was still around I would send him another amp to mod. Here's is a photo of my amp(Rockitt Retro 68 plexi clone 50 watt),its the last amp Mark modded before he passed away.

It's a fun, great sounding amp and it does have that early EVH vibe without the inconvenience (cranked volume, Variac, NOS 6CA7s, etc.), but nobody but Mark has ever made it sound so spot on.

Heck, even if I invented a time machine, traveled back to September '77, broke into Sunset Sound after hours, and played Ed's actual setup, I probably wouldn't sound as close as Mark did in that clip.

He had that style of playing nailed. Just uncanny. Probably what he'll be remembered for, but he was a great player in his own right.

My first year here I found his posts and YT vids. He made the little solid state Marshall sound very close. But aside of his exceptional talent. The amp does sound great. And I am old enough to have a few friends that have passed on.

It is funny how music is a lasting legacy. I never knew Mark but he he looked like he had fun getting in the groove. EVH, Nuno, RR, great groove players. When I record my own practice time, it is always about note placement. That slight lead or lag. Billy Gibbons is another great one at that. I was bookmarking some Ty Tabor material to learn later. Same thing there. Another guy great at planting a hook. After watching about all the Rockstah vids, I again am reminded how much it is about the note being at the right place and time.

Not to derail.

Great amp. Hope someone gets it and puts up some clips.
