Just got off the phone with Rob @ Tone Merchant's...ordered a 50 watt Marsha

I only added an fx loop, line out, and simple clean; nothing more. For me, Brown Eye is where it's at...

Good times!

I think you made a good choice. From what I've heard of the clips, the BE has more than enough gain for almost any kind of rock/hard-rock. No reason to have a bunch of other channels and switches, etc. that you'll never use diluting the signal path.

congrats!!! the Marsha will be everything you'll ever need to cover ALL the marshall tones...the Brown Eye seems to be my fav tone and most used.i've heard the "simple" clean on a local buddy's friedman-modded Marshall and it's pretty incredible sounding for a "simple" clean tone

Thanks man! The simple clean is the only thing I haven't heard yet...as for the BE, I played Raj's (Wolf Static) a few month's back, as well as another Friedman modded Marshall at a little mini-amp fest we had during NAMM week. Both of them blew me away, and frankly in some aspects ruined NAMM for me, at least from an amp standpoint...all week, every amp I played through didn't match up.

At any rate, I'm sure all the extra "bells and whistles" are cool for sure, but I like the idea of having the unadulterated classic tone and nothing more.

Hell yeah man, totally concur. Speaking of gain, I guess HBE (which comes standard) is high gain, but frankly, even on the BE input at a more standard classic rock setting, while not gainy, the sustain is just unreal on these things...first and only master volume amp I've played that allowed me to hold notes for extended periods (5 seconds) at classic AC/DC-type tones -- while at TV volume. Sure the Marsha sounds arguably it's best at 10 o'clock and above, but damn man...the TV volume sounds available are still sooooo impressive.

Congrats!! Love my marsha!!
As far as diluting the path, I don'y hear it!

I have to agree, for a one knob channel it sounds awefully sweet.

Just heard back from Rob at TM...my 50 watter should be done this week!

Love my Marsha, I have the full blown foot switchable clean and it sounds great. I also have Saturation, Modern, FX Loop, BR/HBE and I dont hear any tone loss with them turned off.

Dave is building me a Marsha 2x12 combo as well as I type.

I got all the bells and whistles: BE/HBE/JBE/FAT/SAT/C45/FX Loop/Foot Switchable Simple Clean.

Where do you plug the footswitch in?

Do you feel the need to add extra EQ or anything with the simple clean?
The only thing I'd add to the simple clean is a pull bright on the Volume knob.

That's cool. I'm going to be running a GCX and GCP with mine so I'll plan on putting an EQ in one of the loops.
Yeah, I'll be doing the same with my RG16...so I'll have the Simple Clean as is and also with EQ.

Still diggin' my Marsha
Nothin' better than comin' home from a tough day,
picking up a les paul with MCP Detroiters plugging in
and crankin' the Marsha :rawk:

JBE = Jerry (Cantrell) Blonde Eye. Which is no longer available...

On another note... Did we ever find out why this is no longer available?
Yes we did, but I can't remember if we're supposed to know why or not  ...so I better let Dave or Rob chime in.
