After owning and giging regualry with my Friedman Marsha for over two years the honeymoon is over. This is an absolutly awesome amp but.......
I'm going back to my Bogner 100B for a few reasons.
The Bogner fills the room, is more 3D, is less brittle, has a footswichable boost, footswichable loop, is fatter and cleaner at the same time, the Red channel is sooo fat.
Not that the Marsha is a bad amp, i think the Bogner is a better amp for me. I know that the BE is the flavor of the month but there are some killer older amps out there.
Oh I have been having a swag of pedal board earth loop issues with the Marsha too.

Props for saying it like it is

Thanks for posting your truths.

Horses for courses; at least you formed your own qualified opinion.

Well if you ever wanted a switchable boost and other updates to the amp it could be done. The amp has changed a bunch over 2 years. Bogner is a great amp though. Enjoy

Once again, horses for courses.

Comparing my Friedman with my Bogner 100B yields me a different result than the OP's. No less 3D or filling the room
for me.

The thing the Friedman has (Bogner hasn't) is this enormous "push" under your fingers. The best Marshall sounds you've ever heard recorded come out of the Friedman BE100.

If you're more a Marshall tone guy then the Friedman is the amp for you, if you're not then I can certainly see the appeal of the Bogner. (Great amps too)

Not to underate the Marsha at all Dave. I can not say enough GREAT things about this amp. When I bought it I ordered as many opions that would physically fit as I am in another country and shipping it to you for mods would be costly. Thanks for the concern and I really apreciate your after sales service. This amp is not going anywhere, the XTC is just suiting me better ATM.

I'm splitting hairs here as these amps are so close as in tonal quality. These are the two amps at the top of the heap for me. The switchable loop in the XTC is a deal breaker. I guess me needs are what works best live.

The switchable loop on the 100B is not that great, because it only switches the return. I had many occasions where I switched the loop on and ha a huge wall of delays hitting me that piled up from playing clean just before. The 100B is a great amp though for sure. If I could chose to get my old 100B back or a new Friedman though, I'd surely get the BrownEye.

The way I see it, when you're tossed up between your Friedman Marsha and your Bogner 100B, you really don't have any problems at all....... ;)

You got two great amps to bounce between. I wouldn't be surprised in a couple of weeks the Marsha is on top. I do this w/ my amps all the time.

This is my answer to amp flipping, when I get tired of one tone I switch. :) I have given the Marsha a good run though, just something really special about the XTC tones. I will have the Marsha at home to noodle on.

Combine them, even bigger sonic footprint!
This is a good idea, but not sure if I want to cart 2x heads, I definately can't fit 2x cabs in my car. I did buy a Tonebone amp switcher but the manual says that you can't run time based FX in the loop. If I use 1x quad I'm using 25w GBs' so if I split the box I've only got 50w per side. Scumback maybe?

Agree
