You may find this a bit odd but I find the C45 setting on my friedman modded marshall about the best tone around, my friedman amp, and my Wizard are neck and neck for purest tone.

I'd like your opinion with a Friedman Marsha and Wizard for purest tone ;)

Is it possible to get a Marsha that has footswitchable voicings and options instead of different inputs and switches?

Which does heavier tones better?

I've played a few MCs, but I'm interested in what the Marsha with the HBE/Saturation mod can do? Trying to decide on one of these or the 20th Anniv. XTC.

Well, depending on Dave's workload ir is going to be a bit before I get my Marsha. But listening to the HBE/BE clips, you can be assures that the amps will not sound anything alike. The MC100 I think is very much top end and in your face. To make it sound like I want it to, the mids are cut, bass and presence up and treble at around 5. The mod clips of Dave's pack a lot of creamy mids/highs and tighy bottom.

I just read Jerry Cantrell is using 2 different voiced Marsha's as his rig. One more modern metal voiced and the other more vintage. My first thought was great now I want two.

I just saw AIC in Seattle 3 days ago. All the gear was hidden, but Jerry's tone was incredible !! Freaking incredibly thick, crunchy and growling yet still morphing into the many variation from his albums. He sounded better than ever live!

Wonder if he was using the Marshas? Anyone know? Dave?

Yes he was using 2 Marshas one is normal on the brown eye and the other is a special voice i did for him. Its basically a Brown eye with a saturation switch and a slight change in the voicing of the amp. Both together equals his tone. Dave

Can't wait for the new TM site. I'm sure it won't help my Friedman gas. I had a dream that I plugged into Marsha's saturated Brown Eye last night and went for it all night long!

Ok i can do what i call a simple clean. Its kind of like a vox normal channel but brighter. This does not work though if you use the HBE input. So Basically the Brown eye and a clean switchable. There is no eq for this clean though but it seems to work. I won't to a foot switchable loop unless you pay a extra 150.00 for it. Just is a lot of hand work and most of the time is not needed in any way. the simple clean adds 150 to the price of the amp. also other options are a fat and a saturation switch for 50.00 each. I can do a full fender based clean on the back though that works with any channel for 500.00 if you have to have it.

When I use my simple clean the presence still works. I'm assuming that's cause the presence works off the power amp section?
