Hi guys,
I have opportunity to buy ´72 plexi and I need some advice about price and originality.
It has master and loop mod but original back panel is not drilled. Power tranny and some caps seems changed. Asking price is 2000€/$.

Marshall forum is the best place to ask.....just an FYI. But, having said that, the front end of the preamp looks to have most of the original mustards replaced. OT looks original. Also, no yellow chicklets either which are present in my 72 and most others that I've seen anyway. But, 2K for a 72 with the original OT is probably reasonable today. If the amp was 100% original it would be worth 4K +.....so 1/2 price seems fair.

As the man said buy it and buy it now especially
if you can negotiate a better price in your favor. I say that also bc shipping won't be cheap. The transformer mains and missing parts would leave some room to ask imo. I saw this but was busy and knew someone here who knows would post. It's not original but that is close to fair and you can pimp it out with original parts later. The amp looks killer and time is wasting....

That rear panel has been drilled. How else would they have gotten that loop bypass switch in there? Not the end of the world, but it's been drilled.
If you go through the pics, the amp has a replacement back panel (which is drilled) and the original panel showing the serial number, pictured off the chassis.

But the panel only covers the chassis. You can't drill the panel without drilling the chassis. Sure, you could replace the rear panel when bringing it back to original specs, but the hole would still be visible from the inside of the chassis. Not the end of the world.

Thank guys.
I want amp for playing primary but also I don't want to lose money on it. I believe power transformer is not crucial part of the sound as output transformer is. But missing mustard in the preamp is what make me hesitate. Are there some modern replacements ? And is there big difference in brand vs part value ?

The only way u lose is if you don't buy it man. Like I said you can always get the older parts for it later but only if u pull the trigger.
