Hi guys!

Here is a new Marshall makeover for you!

It's a Marshall 1987x from 2009.

Looks like this on the inside.

Out with the boring PCB :)

It's going to be a two channel amp with gain, treble, middle, bass and volume for each channel. Each channel will have a footswitchable gainboost with a gain control for each boost on the front panel, two footswitchable master volumes and presence, punch, tube buffered effectsloop, a "browner-switch" on the back panel who gives the amp more compressed sound and feel. So it's going to have four footswitchable sounds at two different volumes.

Some new holes since it’s going to be 16 controls on the front panel.

Two extra preamp tubes and some boards to build up all the circuits on.

Fill it up with components.

Finished! :)

Here are some clips:

Close mic'd clip with my Greco Super Real EGF 1000, mics: Shure SM57 and Sennheiser MD421.

The same clip as above but sound recorded with a condenser mic on the camera.

Close mic'd clip with my homemade Tele.

Recorded with an Iphone 4S which gets the sound of how it sounds to you when you stand in front of the amp. Also with my Greco.

Wow! That is a TON going on in a small chassis! Much respect. Clips sound great too.

From the front, what am I looking at that's mounted to the right of the choke?

damm that sounds brown as hell!
cleans up so nice too!
wicked man!

Wow, this guy doesn't just swap a few resistors and call it a rebuild/mod and charge out the nose! Sounds nice too

Pretty awesome man! Lot's of tweaking to be had. Now all you need to do is get a bunch of forum memebers to send you their amps for mods, then maybe only send one back, you'll be an internet legend!!!
Just kidding man, those are some great amp skill you've got. ;)

Thanks!
Let's say it's a thing that's helping with the equilibrium, these amps much heavier on the side where the power tranny is places :D It's a thing that have to do with the power supply.

I dig!

Been thinking seriously about a 1987XL for a while now.
