How freskin ironic that I was just watching that myself on YT.

There's another vid of GC demoing the original and reissue comparison.

I am liking this amp more and more. It's not the original, so people are bitching about this and that.
Personally, I think they did a great job on it.

I have to agree! I watched this twice yesterday and I'm really diggin the tones.
Not sure if I can wait for them to hit the used market

I had one on order but cancelled after I bought a murphy aged 59..lol account is wiped

Would love to get one. Had to choose between waiting for one of these or grabbing an original combo for a good price. Couldn't wait. So far its a toss up between this and an SLO as my favorite amp so far.

I've had 2 black tolex 2554s, one black 2550 and a black 2553 smallbox. Now I have a silver 2554. People...what you hear in that video is all Jubilee. They did a great job with the reissue. It sounds EXACTLY like the real deal. Oh, and I've played through a 2555 also. Buy one and you have yourself Jubilee tone. Whoever is bitching about it is a collector probably, or someone who wants to rip on Marshall for some reason. I think it sounds just like the amps I've had...Killer.

I want one now big time, but a Splawn QR is the same price brand new... Have to really think about that.

That's the one amp I miss and regret selling. One time after sound check my drummer actually got up and hugged my Jubilee lol

When the kid goes into the Extreme thing at 14:45 there it is. Perfect raw rock tone.

Get yourself a Jubilee...try it for a few weeks....if it doesn't wow you enough return it and get the Splawn. Most retailers give you a 30 day return policy.

I can see why guys are digging this reissue. It sounds great just like the originals but appears to have a little more gain than the 87's. The jubes have the mids shifted lower too ala Friedman or Cameron type mods. They sound best through V30's. Hit them with a good OD and they do metal really well also. I'm looking forward to trying one.

I owned a few of these in the early 90's. They sounded good but nothing amazing about them. Ended being much happier with an early 5150 for heavier stuff and the plexi re-issue for the classic Marshall tone. I do remember the EQ being very strong which this re-issue seems to have kept.

Just curious...did you boost them? It turns into a fire breather ala Cameron Jose type Marshall. Like any Marshall, boosting is necessary IMO.....I had at least one Cameron at the same time as a Jubilee over the last few years. They were very close in tone/feel etc, at least with a boost or 2.

No, I was pretty naive about boosting (gain low, level high) back then. I found straight in, the amps rumbled and were meaty but you had to work hard on your attack to get a metallic chunk. Especially in whole step down and drop C which I was using back then. Once I got a 5150 I never looked back. Think I sold my last Jub in '95 for $650 which was 150 more than I paid for it...:)

If you use the output master at high levels and use the lead master as your volume you can get a cranked up tone at lower volumes without a problem... I always had the output master on 8 and the lead master at 1 when practicing at home at night.. and on 6 when playing with the band.

This. Or vice versa will give you that EL34 saturation at low volume. I will say that based on the clips this new one sounds a bit gainier than my 50 watter, as someone else mentioned.

Gotcha. Yeah once I started boosting/double boosting a Jubilee it was similar to the Cameron Marshalls I had at the same time. So I sold them. Tough decision but they both gave me a similar vibe. The only amp that I gas for now is a Wizard MCII...and live the Wizard tone I heard last year reminded me of my Jubilee.
