Those Marshall rack poweramps, EL34 50/50, EL34 100/100, 9100, and 9200 are rated down to 8 ohm loads per channel. I was considering one of the 6L6 models (9100 or 9200) for a power amp for my bass rig. Can Voodoo Amps mod them for 4 ohm load per channel?

Thanks in advance!

First, I don't know if they would be the best for bass rigs...
I would think there are many better options out there for bass, without the need for modification

Right now, my cabs are 8 ohms each, just wondering for future use. The 9200 has 6L6 topography, which is the preferred tube for bass players looking for that saturated power tube sound, and the 9200 seems to have beefy enough transformers. I am open to suggestions.

For bass players into separates, there aren't many tube power amps out there aside from the vintage Mesa Strategy 400 poweramps, but those are 200 wpc, and I was looking for lower power units for smaller venues while still being able to get tubeiness quality. I was even considering the Marshall 9100, 6L6's at 50 wpc. Fender has the Bassman 100, but it's pricey as it is a complete head.

Currently, I have two tube preamps, and I use a ss poweramp.

Maybe it would be easier to run 2 4 ohm cabs in series into a single channel ?

Keep in mind those are geared as guitar power-amps, meaning that the output transformers are most likely not frequency optimized for bass guitar. So you won't get the extended low frequency range out of them like a hi Def OT or bass OT.
