Heres an amp comparison I made. Its in a classic hard rock / metal setting, cause thats mostly what I play!

Great playing.

I prefer the DSL over the EVH in this comparison.

Welcome to the forum.

Thanks Bob, the most consistent response has been, Marshall on the leads, and EVH on the rhthym. Both are great amps though! Thanks for the nice words!

I think I prefer the clarity and voicing of the DSL on the rhythm too.

holy crap....great playing !!!! i quit...lol.......umm...as much as i love the evh amps....i really like the dsl better on both the rhythm and leads also

I could care less which amp sounds better, I'm just enjoying the great playing and well-recorded guitars!

great playing, that first solo lick with the double stop bend was just bad ass, sounded John Sykes/John Norum. Thanks for a great vid. The Marshall packs that extra mid punch, rawer while the EVH is smooth.

Hey thanks alot fellas! I appreciate it! I'll be working on some individual amp demos as well! Keep rockin!

killer playing

the marshall just cuts in a nice way i'd most likely go for that for both, definitely for leads

the EVH is a tiny bit wider sounding and sits more in the back which is probably why people would take it for rhythm

As said, some tasty playing there. I prefer the Marshall. I liked the EVH for the leads a little more, but if I had to decide on one tool for the job, the Marshall wins.

I have to second the notion of Marshall for the leads and EVH for rhythm. Both can do either well but those classic Marshall mids just cut so effortlessly.

I agree. Rocking clip.

I like both myself and feel that either one could be used, depending on the effect I was trying to achieve within a given musical application. They both sound righteous for their own reasons. Although at lower volumes, I lean towards the EVH.

I like the EVH on rythm best, Leads are pretty close, but Marshall sounds slightly less fizzy so I give it to marshall for leads
