Are they as good as the original 2203's?

Anyone try both?

All I know is that the reissue on the amp shootout sounded great!

I have only heard one, but it sounded great, was kinda hard to tell, it was being boosted with an OCD. I have an original JCM 800, and use the same boost, and they were quite similar, but I could tell his settings were very different from mine, he was using way more top than I do in a loud context. Not sure about a price right now, the market is way down. I see people trying to get prices that were fine when the market was more normal, but now, I would think they would be less( I know thats not much help)

I got mine for 1100 new but I got a great deal. Used they are about 1000. I run and OCD + amp or Timmy + OCD+ amp.It totally kills. Amp alone-----not good enough. With the right good grade of pedal you can rock your a... off.

I really like my 2203 reissue. It is way better than 1 old one I had - but it was a later version with less of the blue capaciters. I've never had a chance to compare it to the earlier 2203's, but I can't imagine them being a whole lot better. I did put a Mercury tranny in my reissue - that did make it sound better to me, but the stock tranny still sounded good.
