I love my SD-1 but recently built the BYOC Green Pony and it sounds great.. my new favorite but I'm looking forward to building some more pedals.

Hard to tell with in the room clips but i also like the fish n chips eq the best i think. Doesnt sit on top of the tone, it sits with it. An Sd-1 would have been good to have jn there just for comparison and a dod yellow/ grey as well but magbe that is what the cherry bomb is based off i don't know.

having heard these in person. The Timmy is the most versatile for any rig. The Wampler is #2 for me and the cherry bomb 3rd. I’m basing this on overall versatility in both Marshall and fender circuits.

I think I like the Danelectro EQ the best. $25 pedal. I’ve got one. I like it better than the Boss EQ. It’s quieter and more natural. The Boss adds some hair and is noisier, but it’s built better. For $25, that Danelectro is killer.
Agreed. I wish I still had mine. It was fucking 'taped' together with velco because it broke. If they could have taken that circuit and put it in a standard hard case (like an MXR type enclosure) they could have sold more even if at a slightly higher in price.

But then I like the cheap Bad Monkey OD too. Fancy does not always equal better :D

Great demo LP&GL

I have the catalinbread Naga viper that has tweakabikity and while I like it, I don't know if it is the ticket for my sound. That said, I like the idea of it allowing your fuzz to cut more. Lately however, playing my 800 plugged in without any pedals. Now that's a sound when you get the master over 6

I also like the bad monkey. Used to leave it on board just for buffer. Sounded great. Mine now has a ground issue somewhere though I think...I get shocks playing through the damn thing.

I love it. Great for Maiden and Sabbath type stuff.
It sounds fantastic with other overdrives or fuzz pedals.
And just killer with a Vox. Feels great when you play it, too.
I've had the Fulltone Ranger and Diamond Marquis, flipped em fast. The CB ain't going nowhere, and it has a permanent spot on the revolving pedalboard. Need to boost an OD into distortion? Done. Need a bit less mud or more clarity? Hit it and roll down the guitar volume. Want to make your fuzz pedal cut through a bit more and sound gnarly? Use the CB. I learned that trick from the Analogman Sun Lion.
The only other treble booster I'm curious about it the R2R.

Great video btw, and to me they all sound like different shades of 'good'.. It's all about matching pedals to amps and you did a great job. Just out of curiosity have you tried the PLX Bion Boost? I got 1 recently and liked it so much I bought a 2nd one. It's also a Treble Booster.. . If you've tried it, just curious how the Cherry Bomb compared, but I love the Bion. Also what 'Klone" was that? I've had a few and had the original Gold Klon for at least 15-20 years before I finally sold it, and the Klones weren't as good as the original to me. They were still good though :) Thanks for posting

Bad monkey is an incredibly underrated pedal. It's hard to believe how long they've been around and how cheap they can still be had.
Another good, inexpensive, underrated TS type is the voodoo sparkle drive - same sort of vibe, slightly better build quality.

Thanks for the comments!!! I agree, they're all good in their own way. It really is about finding the best of what a pedal has to offer with different amps.
All of these can be set up differently, and often are, with the Mesa, DRRI or AC15.

I haven't heard of the PLX. I'll look it up now.
The Klone is a Doxasound. It's a Klon and Prince of Tone in one pedal, with a switch to change the order. He's a guy out of Cali that was doing all types of cool pedals like this for a while, then took a break a couple of months ago. I've never had an original, and don't bother playing thru them when I see them in a store. $$$
