Marshall JMP-1 - Modded or Unmodded?

Any experience/preference here? I have a stock JMP-1. I know some like the Voodoo Amps mod, but it seems to transform it away from the Marshall character for better or worse.

I have been wondering the same thing. Is it REALLY worth the money for the mods ? I may be wrong but the "mods" are probably nothing more than cap/filtering upgrades and maybe a few resistor values changed. Anybody ?

The JMP-1 is cool stock. I never got to play a modded one however. That said, the JMP-1 seemed like a weird Marshall hybrid that didn't really sound like any "real" Marshall I had ever owned. SUPER cool none the less. Wish I still had mine.

Yeah man, it was a blast jamming on that thing. I'm thinking I'll keep it stock. Maybe Kurt could hook you up with one...

I've gigged my JMP1 for over 10 years and I love it.
Key to mine was a Palmer Simulator... made it much more toneful.
Best thing is that it handles pedals in front like a real head so for me it's the best of every world
I'd love to get the Voodoo Platinum mod some day

Secret sauce trick...Use a mono Y cable and go out of both outs on the pre to your power amp/source...beefier sounding. Of course that is if your running mono

Need to add...if your using a stereo effects rig...set it up as though using it in stereo even though running mono if using the effects loop on the JMP-1 at all...
