Marshall JMP-1 preamp incoming

A lot of "higher end" tone can be had from the jmp1 pending on what its run into down the line.Ive heard some "meh" cleans from it,but ive also heard some fantastic cleans from it when it has a killer power section after it, and this also has never been a better time to experiment w/ the bazillions of preamp tubes that are available.It can make a huge difference in the clean, and dirty, for that matter.Ive had a triaxis for years but prefer the jmp1 over it,I like the quad better for mesa pre's..If Priest, Maiden, Def Lep,and many more pros use em,( and have the moola to buy anything),they cant be that bad.I still want a voodoo modded one to go w/ my stock one.

Jubilee has LED clipping. Sorry. And you're right......who the hell puts diode clipping + a Marshall? I mean, everyone knows you can't put a diode clipping circuit or pedal + a Marshall to get a great tone....

And yes, Jubilees are the worst amp EVAR. Bonamassa, Slash, Frusciante...what the hell do they know?

I think he was being sarcastic. Saying the JMP1 and Jubilee both had diodes so everyone hated them when they came out. And then once slash used one everyone wanted one and loved them. And LED is a diode (not sure if you were saying the Jubes didn't have diode clipping because it was a LED)

When I run mine through the EL84 20/20 or the Tru of some marshall heads in stereo it sounds great, that is subjective though. I know people that hate them but compliment the tone on my recordings or my live tone and they react funny when I tell them it's all the JMP-1 with a TS808 infront of it. I call it the poor mans AXE FX haha

There was a while when I had a Marshall 6100 & 2210/ running along side my jmp1 into a vht classic and clients in the studio couldn't tell them apart,most of the time, they picked the wrong rig..we all just laughed at that..Anyways, when we dialed in and tweaked out the jmp1 w/ my vht classic into a diezel 4x12 cab,and got the volume up to where it was movin some decent air, I remember people were having a hard time thinkjng it wasn't a stand alone amp head...then again, ive heard some jmp1s (just like any other preamp) hooked up and ran so wrong that it should've been illegal..lol

My fave pre-amp, I have it next to my ADA-MP1 which is in close second. It has speaker emulation which is great for recording, all my songs are using it and the speaker emu. Just a warning, the cleans are garbage (personal opinion) the are lacking and weak... hence the ADA MP-1 to cover it haha
