haven't played metal riffs in a while so i busted out my warmoth strat with a floyd and single humbucker and just record this out of the chute. Marshall is fully dimed with using a Ultimate attenuator and just a tad bit of a Lovepedal Plexi 800 boost pedal. dont make fun, i dont do the metal chugga chugga stuff that great : )

Very cool. I don't mean to offend anyone but that sounds like a Plexi to me.

thanks guys, its 74' stock head with Tesla EL 34's. I am using an ol 72' marshall 4X12 cab as well with half original greenbacks and half the reissue g12m's.

How do the reissues hold up against the originals? I'm thinking about some Scumback's, but hate to dish out the dough for 4 - I was thinking of doing 2, but I wasn't sure how they would mix.

Ya know the 1987x reissue and my 74' are very similar, but the reissue for some reason is louder than mine and is cleaner. even though mine is completely stock, it actually has a little more bite to it and seemed warmer. have no idea why either. I thought the older reissue ones without the effects loop were better sounding IMO then the newer ones.

Reminds me alot of Lynch Back for the Attack tone......nicw whammy dive at the end :)

Sounds very nice. How loud was it in the room?

I had the cabinet isolated in my closet with some blankets over it which made it a lot better, but it was still pretty thumping. defintely not bedroom volume by all means

Oh man thanks for taking the time to do this, I was starting to wonder just how much dirt could be had with an early 70s JMP, loved the grit and sizzle!

So this is a 4 hole JMP? What level of attenuation?

That was just nasty stuff and I will get killed for this but I liked that far better than any brown sound. This is what I am looking for.
