Met up with my friend last weekend and tried out my new Palmer reamp box. Works like a charm.

We had his Zilla Fatboy loaded with Lynchbacks a Marshall JVM (my favourite) and a MESA mk III that he has recently just serviced. I put together a quick drum track and here is the final product. I had never recorded a mark series before and I think I went a little overboard with the GAIN!

All I know is I now want a Zilla Fatboy to replace my Framus, it sounds absolutely beastly in the room.

Here's the clips

Let me know what you think.

I prefer the Marshall, it sounds a bit more open and biting. Was it boosted?

The Mesa sounds like the tone Anthrax used on Madhouse, really thrashy sounding.

Nope just straight in on OD2. The Marshall is my favourite and I know the amp really well.

Sounds good Tony!

My Mark III does sound good with that cab!

Mesa nails that thrash tone. Sounded crushing in the room. I told you a boost isnt really needed, plenty of gain and tightness if EQ'd right.

I still think im a Marshall guy!

I am a Marshall guy but the Mesa was the thrash master in that clip.

Damn that Marshall sounds great in that clip...Almost has a "boosted" quality ti it: lots of those "ripping" upper mids and great pick attack.

Lots of love for the Mesa! I'm very happy with the lead tone on the JVM. Looking forward to doing some more clips with these 2.

Hell yeah the Mesa III kills the jvm by a wide margin!

Sounds great man! Those are the amps my thrash band uses and we get compliments on our guitar tone all of the time.

Thanks!

I bet they mix together fantastic live.

Mesa MK III. The other two recordings sound too boxy IMO.
