For $2600 you are into some good used Diezel or Bogner stuff let alone picking up something new from Mesa. A nice amp regardless, though with some decent changes to it.

Truth. Man for that cash I'd pick up a used Friedman modded Marshall or Marsha.

Just a few things:

I broke down and watched some of the video and I agree with Carl and most everyone here that the demo (if you can call it that) is crap.

Even though I like Chappers personality, I think his videos have more to do with schtick and selling gear then really trying to get a good tone and I'll leave it at that. Oddly enough, the best tone I've heard from him was when he was promoting his own sig amp....Go figure ;)

$2600 is the price that you are going to see on Musicians friends and all of the big boys. If you buy a lot of stuff from them, you might get some coupons from them and you will more then likely not pay that price.

Also, knowing that most people will Not pay $2600 for the amp unless they are a complete newb, you are getting a lot of amp for the Money.
Keep in mind this amp has 4 independant channels with 3 modes on eadch channel, 4 gates, mid switches, 2 master volumes, effect loop, direct out etc etc

Also, The amp is new and anyone talking about build quality at this time is not talking out of experiance. The worst build qaulity that Ive seen from Marshall so far was with their DSl/TSL line and those were Marshall best sellers, so go figure hahahha! Ive had my JVM for a long time now without any hassles.

Just something that I was told that I dont think was mentioned is that Each Gate is custom tailored to the channel. In other words it was programmed to match the Channel and its not the same gate on all the channels. Its 4 individual gates that were programmed to match the channel it's dedicated to. The gain is also different on the Satch model that allows for more in-between tones and they are using the AFD for some of the modes (probably mentioned already but just incase)

Im looking forward to hearing one of these and I will give a full review when I get my order.

All the best

Thought it sounded trebly and thin. Me dissappoint. Blame it on the demo guys?

I have yet to hear an amp in Chappers' hands that doesn't sound trebly and thin.

I thought I was the only one who hates the tone on the Andertons videos... and Rob Chapper's tone in general... and the whole 20+ minute-Andertons-uber-show-video-thing.
I prefer shorter demos that focus on the tone rather than random BS. And if the video is already that f*cking long at least show off as much of the capacity of that piece of gear as possible.

I think Chapper's videos when he worked for Orange were a lot better than what he now does with Andertons. He actually got some decent sounds from teh TT, an amp I generally don't care for at all.

My 5 year old JVM is still going strong

I agree with both posts here. For the most part, the only people that'll be purchasing it are gonna be hardcore Satch fans...at least, that's what I believe.

$2600???

New 410H's here in my city in Canada are $1650
210H - $1450
205H - $1300

Holy crap. It's like 6 minutes of talking before they even strum the guitar. Someone tell Marshall to hire Pete Thorn to do a REAL demo... please.

I dunno. For $2600, I think there's a TON of amps out there that are better sounding, and way better built.

You always have loved your JVM Scott, i think the epiphony of all of the other threads on RT was the JVM amps used by an artist who's name will not be mentioned, and RT had a shitstorm over it - yet you still hung onto your boots

all I know is I want that fucking stupid bandanna thing off his head.. he probably wears a wig

its like this guy:
250px-Anthrax_Paard_van_Troje_1.JPG

Its 200 degrees on stage, running around, this guy wears that stupid black beanie hat.. FOR EVERY FUCKING SHOW

ARRRRRRRGHGGGGGGGG

(yes I am stupid for hating clothes)

That demo video is horrid. Curious to see some better videos once the amp is shipping. :)

It sounds like the sound on the record but with a bit more mud. You hear it especially every time he hits a cord. Wouldn't sound so good if i played it:-)

my faourite Satch tone was from the 2006 live dvd which i believe was the JSX clean channel with the Satchurator. I had that pedal for a while and i sounded like total shit through it :)

This Chappers guy is terrible. Look at all his video's. They're shit.
Don't let this guy influence your opinion on ANY amp.

They are great amps period.

There are guys here that if they used my JVM and I had my choice of anything on the planet they would pound my ass into the ground.

Takes more than a high res proper lighting photo op to get great sounds from an amp..........................
