I own a 410h, and you will get many more tones out of it than you will any 6505, 5150, or Splawn. The green clean channel is really, really nice. The crunch has great variety as well. The high gain can be dialed in to sound very good. You just have to spend some time learning the amp. There is so much variety in each channel's EQ and gain - you can't set every channel the same.

I'll be the first to admit that I like my Marshalls modded. But for the money, you can't beat the array of tones you can get from a JVM.

I tried several different speakers (Greenbacks, G12H Anniversary, V30s, and Classic Leads), and overall, I like the V30s best. Other speakers shined on individual channels (the Greenbacks were the best on the crunch channel, but muddied up on OD1/OD2), but to get the most out of every channel, I like the V30s. Of course, your cabinet will have a lot to do with how your speakers sound, so you have to take that into consideration.

With tubes, well, there are so many variables. I think the stock tubes can sound good. Obviously, NOS tubes will get you some variety, but they can be hit or miss. I would start off with the stock tubes and try different speakers/cabs to find a combination you like.

I've got ENGL 2x12 PRO (with V30). I very dig it with my Blackstar HT5h ( Marshall settings).

Do you think , that this cab and JVM410 will be a good pair ?
And what about a noise level ? I found in reviews that OD2 is very "hissy" and noisy , and ISP decimator can't help ...

Yes the stock JVM is playable. It's essentially already modded.

Clean Channel...IMO one of the best clean channels ever put on a Marshall

Crunch Channel...old school JCM800 type tones...takes OD pedals well.

OD1 Channel...modded high gain Marshall out of the box.

OD2 Channel...super high gain, very dark sounding type Marshall tone.

Is it Noisy...it's not any more noisy than any other high gain amp I have owned. I do not own or use a noise gate...nor do I need one with this amp.

Tubes...stock tubes are fine. Work and sound great IMO. I used mine until it was time to retube.

IMO it sounds great with all kinds of speakers...75's, 30's, GH30's, GB's. I have hated 75's my whole playing career until the JVM...they are in my go to cab now.

Not much more I can say...myself and alot of others love the amp.

I just swapped a 6505+ for one of these. I just like the sound of a Marshall better.

The JVM is a GREAT amp bone stock. It's about the only Marshall I've been able to stand myself through ever... It is also about as versatile as a Marshall can get.

jvm is a beast and a great deal on used market.
although you dont need a gate it helps especially if you are running gains high.
there is a ridiculous amount of gain available so if you are running od1/od2 with high gain you might want it.
amp will give you the tones you want.
i dont notice much difference with tube swaps but you may want to check powertube bias.
