Marshall Silver Jubilee Mini?? Any owners?

This amp is everything I want, on paper. I've heard some killer demos, and shitty, (as with all amps). What's the thoughts on these? It's pretty stripped down and straight forward, and EL34's to boot! Looking hard at this one!

I played one last week, kinda made me wish I had bought a new one instead of the 100w version...just as organic sounding. Needs a boost to get heavy, I'd bet the BE pedal with the gain trim turned way down would work well. Also, I read where like the 100w you can put any octal tube in the lower watt versions..for me that is such a cool feature. I've ran a pair of 34s with 6550s, KT 88 with 6l6...id imagine you'd have to run equal pairs in the small box Jube but how many amps can do that, for 1299?

How's the volume taper? Does it play nice at lower volume, or does it blast immediately?

The volume taper on Jubes is much better than other Marshalls. No 0-10 between 1&2 like the older amps. Amazing amp for low to medium-high gain tones. Best blues rock and lead tone Marshall has ever produced.

To me it was very close, although I didn't have one side by side but they both run EL34s, a little smaller sounding but that's to be expected with 100-20w difference. They love V30s also. Try a new one, return if you don't dig it...

I've had the mini-jube combo for over a month now. I completely love it. It is an amp that can sound very nice at lower volumes but loves being loud! I boost mine with a Wampler Tumnus and it sounds perfect. The EQ controls on it are very wide sweeping. I like the closed back with lower port on the cab. I get really nice bottom from it when playing loud and most of all, the amp does NOT get wolly on me when turned up. Took me a bit to break in the greenback but after that all was perfect!

I use this for my smaller gigs with smaller pedal board. I am still finding the right cab setting when running it with my two-Notes live.

I owned a 100w version and recently tried the 50w. The mini is not a toy and sounds as good as the 100w. There are some advantages of the 100w, and if you have to choose between a used 100w or 50w at a close price, the 100w might be a better choice. To me the 100w just has more punch, and fuller sounding rhythm 1. Plus the 100w seems to take overdrives better because the 50w seems to get slightly more compressed. Having said that, it's the same sound and a marvelous amp for the price range. If a store has the 50w, then they probably have a 100w too, so I'd suggest comparing them to see which you like better.

Both the mini and 100w version sound fantastic. I also have been itching to get either one.

1299 for a 25 mini head is hard for me to get around, BUT, it really sounds amazing.

I've had the combo for about a month and a half and I love the little thing. I've owned 4 of the original 100 watt, and 3 of the 50, but it's been 6 years or so since then, so I'm probably a little dusty one memories, but this little amp delivers. It can get loud, my bass player jokingly calls it my 200 watt 25 watt amp because the first night I got it I kept turning it up at practice to see how it would hold together and drowned everyone out. That said, it does lower volume awesomely well, or I wouldn't have kept it. I bought it for smaller shows that we occasionally do, where we can't fit our half stacks. To get super aggressive, you will need a pedal. But just like the originals, it takes pedals better than about any amp I've owned.

I did swap put the greenback for a veteran 30 because I wanted to try it out, but I haven't played with the band yet to see which I prefer.

Plugged into a mesa recto 2x12 cabinet, it's even more amazing sounding.
