Curious what people have to say about the Silver Jubilees. Aside from their ridiculous price these days, many say they are the best production Marshall.

What does the RT crew say? Spill it.

Thanks.

I've had several (2 2555's and 2 2553's) and I like them a lot. They're a little more compressed and dark sounding than most Marshalls, and have a little bit different mid character but they're a great sounding amp.

I really like my 2553, its a great amp. I am using it with the band.

When I first got it, I thought it was pretty much an 80's metal 1 trick pony. But I have been able to coax some nice clean, mid gain, and high gain tones from it. I recently put an EQ in the loop to get me into the brutalz zone for a few godsmack tunes. Mine has an extra volume for the clean channel allowing me to control the volumes between channels, which has been invaluable, with out this mod the amp would be much less useful and I probably would have 2 amp AB setup using another amp for clean.

As much as I like my 2553, I feel for the price they go for now I would probably get a different marshall like a JCM800, late 70's JMP or DSL50 if I was shopping now.

I would say there is probably some kook out there sitting on a dead mint perfect example of a Silver Jubilee full stack

Joe Bonamassa uses it as the base tone for his sound, as did Slash. Need I say more?
