matrix gt800fx protection light always on, is this normal?

my rig:
kemper monitor out - > input A on matrix gt800fx set to parallel -> a&b outs to 8 ohm stereo inputs (so two inputs) on my boogie roadking 4x12.

everything works and sounds fine, but the red protect light is always on and solid (not blinking) while the power amp is on.
again, no issues sound or performance wise, but the red light is always on.
is that normal, or is there something wrong with the way i'm routing this stuff?
the manual is pretty vague, and this stuff is expensive, so i don't want to screw anything up.

Routing sounds fine. Wondering if the output channels have been shorted together. It's possible that the relay has blown but welded together so instead of being open and getting no signal, it's shut and is working off perhaps one channel.
