Wow, thats interesting, had no idea he was using anything else but plexi's. Last saw him on G-3, it was amazing how many notes he could squeeze into "Red House", Was a little dissapointed that he did! He is still the Master. It does not appear that the plexi's are even being used. He could store those at my house, and save his crew a lot of backache !! I would treat them like my own, and perhaps, even fondle them!!!!!!!!! It appears both DSL's are on the clean channel's . Strange.

:) Hey Yngzaklynch, I tried the Vintage Modern 100 watter again last friday nite for a good long time and in the end, that amp unboosted for me was not what I wanted. It was too much trouble to get the hotter tones from it. Now I also had no pedal to boost it with, yet on the other hand my dsl 100 marshall head is just awesome. I like it a ton better than the vintage modern. Ya don't have to wind it up nearly as hard to get hot to hotter tones from it. Also I just got my new SD-1 keeley stacked mod pedal in today. That thing is very cool. I used it tonite to drive my jubilee marshall just to see what would happen. Man it drove the jubilee insane. So thanks for turning me onto the keeley modded sd-1. On the other hand I hope you don't get no more clips or vids up using no real high dollar gear. LMAO.

Just look at what that man is wearing.

Don't be jealous that he has better fashion sense than you do.

Hey Darr, what's up bud? I really like the pics. But yngie, just don't look any thinner?  Oh well he is still one of the best players ever. I think I am gonna call Splawn and ask them to build me a new head box that looks like a mini plexi, you know with the front solid tolex covered panel and with the piping running across the middle of the front. That should really dress out the DSL-100. Ya think?

I'm recalling some of the interviews I've read and it seems all he ever used was 50 watt Plexis and Marshall 4x12s loaded with the 75 watters. Dunno any more than that.

Hey bud. You gotta use what works for you. I always used the Keeley into the VM. I still(despite all the haters) am very fond of the VM. I think it's a very nice amp. I have a DSL on the way. I think the DSLs ability to go from classic Marshall to more modern high gain possibly makes it the Marshall for me. I've played many and really liked most. I think it comes down to things like tube quality, bias, and cab.

i seriously doubt he is using DSL's....I've seen yngwie LOTS of times in all different era's, and even though he may have back line marshalls lit up does not mean he's runnng through them. Its been only recently in that last tour he was messing with 800's but only in the overseas places because they provided the backline and it is a huge cost savings in having to ship his normal U.S. gear over. Vintage Modern maybe a different story after hearing what he said about them in that interview, Uli Roth was testing them out during soundchecks, but I thought they sounded cold compared to an old super lead. we'll soon see in the new tour, either way, he will still sound like YJM.

Hey bro..
yeah he didnt look any thinner in person either.. :D ..but his show was fantastic..im thinking of calling scott myself to order a competition to go with my cameron...im not 100% sure yet though??

any suggestions?...dont really need super clean..i think gear 1 OD1 with the volume rolled back on my guitar would be clean enough for me..

i think your idea would look great...definately..

For his symphony excursions he used a Fender Roc Pro 100 because his JMP's were too loud.

I think his main amps were '71s or '72s? That would make them metalface JMP's, as the plexi panels stopped in a '68-69. But the differences if any are pretty minor.

I can see him using the VM. They seem right up his alley, actually.

Did you get the DSL yet?

If he were going to use a new amp of his choice I don't get why he just wouldn't use a plexi re-issue.

good point, from what I read in an interview he used the 1987x plexi reissue's in all lot of the overseas countries in the last tour and the attack tour..i recall him saying that he liked them alot because they sounded very similar to his 71, 72 heads.

I actually the plexi reissue as well, but god damn their fricken louder than god!
