I am looking at getting these. I have heard tons of clips of the blackbelts (1 and 2) and they sound tight and warm, but I want a smidge more low end and it seems the Afwayus are the step up in a sense - same school.

I am thinking about replacing my Tom Anderson H1 (neck) and H3 (bridge). They sound amazing but I am just looking for a change. They would be going into a Les Paul.

Any thoughts??? Or sound clips w/out the drum machine in the mix? Thanks.

Blackbelts/2nd Degree BB are no where near the Afwayu's. Low output vs higher output. The Afwayu has plenty of low end, but it might be a little too dark for a LP. Depends on the guitar. Another great option for LPs is the Detroiter.

I loved my Afwayu in my PRS SC50, but it wasn't to great in my LP custom. Too much bass and too dark

I believe Jerry Cantrall has Blackbelts in his Les Paul.

I have a Detroiter set in my LP and they sound great! Not as hot as the Afwayu's though. I have a set of those in my Ibanez.

Seems like all of the MCP's are made for bass players. lol. I like my Garuda though. ;)

Had one in a Charvel Custom...very even sounding with great tight low end and very articulate. Great pup.

Not all MCPs..only the Afwayu and Hot Heads have the extra bass, but the underwound Afwayus sound badass in bright guitars like maple neck thru Jacksons...The Angel Dust is where it is at as well as the Garuda which are no longer being made..I also dig the Detroiter and 2nd Degree BBs!!!
