Thinking about getting one of these 2 for my Alder H/S/S strat. Has anyone compared the two?

Which do you think you would perfer in an LP, the Detroiters or the Blissbuckers? I've got the Blisster Buckers in my LP now, but I'm probably looking to change. They are just a little too compressed for me. Looking for more grit and edge in a PAF style.
I think I would really be happy with either, they share some great qualities. Both guitars I have them in are Mahog backs and maple tops and 243/4 scale.bbaug14":8l748nj7 said:jmgman69":8l748nj7 said:I've got the Blissbuckers in a VOS 60LP and it's heaven, tight lows, articulate and the highs really stand out, bright but not ear blasting.Muscular and has a nice edge.I just put a set of Detroiters in an Anderson Cobra and man he hit the nail on the head with those!!!!!!!

Extremely open and with a nice top end, lots of punch and clarity with a great bite. The 2nd degrees are also super open, but with more lows and highs than the standard BlackBelt and a little hotter and have an A5 magnet.

Which of these, Angel Dust, Detroiter or Blackbelts, have the most rolled off top. I'm looking for something in my 2nd LP that doesn't have that grit of a 498t or the harsh high end of my BB pro.
Something with the clarity on chords of a 57 classic + and the single note lead performance of a BB3.

Probably the standard Blackbelts because of the A4 magnet. But they are still bright because of their lower output, but it is not harsh at all. I have a set in my 1980 Les Paul Custom, and it sounds amazing. If you want really fluid single note stuff, the Angel Dust might be a little better simply because it is hotter and has a little more compression. It also depends a lot on the amp you're using. If you have a super high-gain amp, the Blackbelts will be perfect.

Thanks, that's interesting you recomend the standard Black Belts for high gain. I tend to favor lower gain pups because they maintain control better at gain. I use Marshalls from my '74 super lead to Jubilee, jcm 800, to DSL. Also a Mesa MkIIc+ and Vox type amps.
Maybe the Angel dust would work well in my HSS ash strat since it's so bright.
