Because America was populated by easily duped farmhands at that time and they were tricked into thinking it was the cause most worthy of support of their lifetime. Why did we even bother fighting WW2.
Not to mention sinking of American shipping in the Atlantic, submarine warfare along the Atlantic coast and attacking naval facilities in the pacific.Because America was populated by easily duped farmhands at that time and they were tricked into thinking it was the cause most worthy of support of their lifetime.
You make a good point but dealing with that didn't require a european invasion, just a better navy. Not to mention sinking of American shipping in the Atlantic, submarine warfare along the Atlantic coast and attacking naval facilities in the pacific.
Why didn’t we just grin and take it?
Actually they only fought because they got attacked at Pearl Harbor. Otherwise they sat on their arses while we fought up until 1941. The only reason the US joined was self-interest as per usual. As for the European invasion as you put it - that's because by declaring war on Japan you declared war on Germany... They were the "Axis"...Because America was populated by easily duped farmhands at that time and they were tricked into thinking it was the cause most worthy of support of their lifetime.
Gratitude for help fighting the axis disappeared long before you came along.Actually they only fought because they got attacked at Pearl Harbor. Not sure I understand that. Everyone was pleased the US joined and helped but it wasn't out the goodness of their hearts. It was because they were themselves attacked. Up until that point the US was neutral and there were cases where that neutrality actually assisted Germany. Let's be clear though. The US didn't enter the war because it was against the Nazi's and were some sort of anti-Nazi moral heroes. They entered the war because they were pulled into it by Japan pure and simple. Claims that "we won the war single handed" from the US that you often get just pisses everyone off and I like to remind them of this history from time to time because they conveniently forget it all the time. The US wasn't some beacon of light and hope that they like to think they are or were - that were always on our side and always by our side.Gratitude for help fighting the axis disappeared long before you came along.
Whoa whoa whoa! This is a country full of ignorant blowhards that think everything good in the world is thanks to us. So it's no wonder so many here worship that orange abomination. Not sure I understand that. Everyone was pleased the US joined and helped but it wasn't out the goodness of their hearts. Some people might think I don't like the US because of what I wrote... but that's not true either. I do... but sometimes it's complicated lol I do like the US - I think they are pretty much the same as us. What disappoints me is when they don't realise they are pretty much the same and carry on like they have tickets on themselves... In Australia we sometimes call that "tall poppy syndrome"... lol Nothing like chopping the heads off a few tall poppies hahaWhoa whoa whoa! the only thing to stop them is folks with boomsticks.... kinda surprised me when this hamas operation happened. I always assumed everybody in Israel was packing uzi's or galils. Guess not.....only a matter of time.
I expect it will be a coordinated operation, several cities / towns perhaps dozens, maybe multiple locations in each to spread law enforcement thin, on the same day and time.
Many in the kibbutz had safe rooms, but seems they didn't lock from the inside and/or weren't fireproof? I think they were designed like bomb shelters for the rocket attacks, they never expected a surprise ground attack getting past the perimeter defenses.the only thing to stop them is folks with boomsticks.... kinda surprised me when this hamas operation happened.
