I think they make some bad ass pickups!

Here's the Modern's, Killswitch's and Will Adler's. All a bit different and all are awesome.

But on my two Horizon the body is not deep enough for the push/pull pots. So right now I've put a switch in there but dont like the look of it. Is there any way to make a switch with the original knobs on it? It has to be 25k. Would love to have the matching aesthetics.

Also I just bought a slash signature Marshall half stack for 750 dollars so I had to pull the trigger. And since my kemper are going to my rehearsal room I needed something for home. If I boost it with a VFE Standout or Dragon will it get me into heavy/metal area? Any tips?

I think Gary Holt are using one for slayer.

Thanks!

I use a VFE Rocket to boost my Jubilee 2555x and it can get somewhat into metal territory but not insanely aggressive. It retains a lot of warmth in the midrange but that's partially due to how I dial it in. The midrange control is so responsive on that amp and I don't scoop it at all.

Nice guitars :)

Killer setup!
Please speak on the Fishman differences, particularly KSE vs Modern.
My only experience is with the KSE set and I totally dig it in my Caparison Angelus-Mahogany body & maple set neck. Not sure if the guitar is right for me though because the neck is a bit thick. I was going to order a Kiesel but I think they only offer the Modern?

Thanks!

I’ve had both in a bunch of different guitars. The KSE is tighter, a bit lower output, and brighter, while the moderns are thicker and a bit hotter. Those are my 2 favorite fluence sets

The Abasi set is cool too. I swapped it with a modern set I had in it before and they sounded almost the same, but the Abasi just had a bit more upper mids, just a hair looser maybe and has extra modes to play with

A Jube takes boosts very well, as good as any 2203. I used to double boost with an Ultimate Drive(OCD clone) and a cheapo Fish n Chips for heavier stuff..kinda noisy though. Cusack Screamer also works well, more subtle but the most transparent. Last Jube I had I used a Boss OD1X and it was very quiet, low end was nice n tight and it added a slight upper mid boost. You'll love the EQ section, the most responsive of any Marshall made. LOTS of low end in them. One of the few Marshalls that I actually love with V30s. They also love the usual suspects, GBs or any variant like a G12 65.
Really any decent boost should do the trick. Tip for the volumes...try to run both lead/master above 5...I used to max the lead volume and run the master to taste. If you can keep them both at equal spots your clean/lead will be balanced well.
Great amp! You might hear some similarity to the Wizards you owned..supposedly some circuit similarities. Extended highs/lows are one.

You’re right. :) and the Adlers have a more pronounced mid which fattens it up. And feels more like a passive pickup I think.

Just received the 2555SL. I like it! Still waiting on my VFE Standout and Dragon. Nice midrange with a rather big bottom end. While still retaining the marshall high end.

Forgot to mention, what a great price you paid! Amazing score. You'll dig it boosted for sure.

The Alders are the one Fluence set I’ve not tried yet, but I’ve heard others also say it has a more passive kind of tone. I didn’t like the Townsend or Carpenter sets and thought the Merrow one was ok, but the KSE, Moderns and Abasi are definitely my picks

The Dragob I think will likely complement the jubilee very well. The standout may be a bit bright and nasally with the jubilee, but I could be wrong. Will be interesting how it works out with it

I think Gary Holt are using one for slayer.

I would think that you could use the switch on these, but not the potmeter itself. It would take care of the aestethics, but you really couldn't fully integrate it in your wiring.
It seems like 25k potmeters usually require full depth for installation.
