The last album just flat out rips, JVM's right? Listened to it running the other night and man the tone is killer! Songs are strong and the playing it top notch!
 
I loved megadeths newest album! I really like chris's playing, and their tone. But now they axe fx's

actually i think you spy a gsp 1101 .. in the racks with the axe and marshall heads so it not all that bad .. lol
 
Endgame was recorded with JVM's, Dave is still using Marshalls I believe but Brodericks is using Axe FX to the Marshall Power Amp to Marshall cabinets. Based on what I have read, so if this is incorrect I apologize in advance.
 
Chris has a gear tour video with his Ultras on You Tube.
 
they change all the time, i dont know what they used on the album but on the rust in peace tour right after Endgame was released Dave was using a GSP1101, Marshall EL34 100/100 and his signature cabinets i believe and i think Chris was using the same Power amp with the Axe.
 
I really liked Endgame at first but for some reason it just didn't have legs for me. Haven't listened to it in a long time. I think after repeated listens the perfection of the recording became sterility to me and I went back to 80's stuff and Rust in Peace. But I'm finding more and more the Andy Sneap? approach on records is incredibly boring and soulless. IMHO of course.
 
My honest summation of MegaDETH :

KIMB...ABIG = some cool songs/parts. Otherwise an unfocussed mess.
PS...BWB ? = classic
SFSG...SW ? = few cool songs, lots of filler
RIP = all time classic, masterpiece
CTE = 1/2 is good, rest filler
go to hell/99 ways to die = cool songs
Everything else = some good songs here and there, rest is all filler

All IMO of course.

It's like you couldn't get the Shelby Mustang and had to settle for the GT and then said well it beats the hell out of a Yugo :lol: :LOL:
 
End Game was an amazing album. I always listen to it religiously before my softball tournaments!
 
I like the tone on endgame but most of the songs are painfully boring to me. I liked death magnetic more. :D
 
I agree. I still enjoy The System Has Failed as well. There's still some cheese, *cough*Scorpion*cough* but it's a solid effort with good riffs and tones.
 
I like End Game, very nice tone and great songwriting, but imo NO ONE can say it stomps all over Death Magnetic..... Death Magnetic is a great album
