Sad to see them go. I'm sure Dave having cancer a while back shifted some priorities around. I wonder if they will take the Slayer approach and show up at festivals here and there.

I suspect that this may be the case...Build up demand, and then take well paying, select festival gigs.

I'd see them live one more time due to this. Can't blame Dave at all. I particularly enjoyed Rust In Peace, Countdown to Extiction and Youthanasia. That era right there. Quit following them after that but listen to their stuff to this day, especially when I'm cutting the grass or driving to my cabin.

This is a sick song right here and has a tad of country swing to it.

I retired last year at 60. Dave is 63. I can definitely understand wanting to do other things with your time.
I'm actually more busy now than I ever was when working.

This announcement officially marks the second time Mustaine has "ended" Megadeth. So time will tell yet again.

Dave is an enigma to me. Comes across as a colossal douche yet folks say he’s great. Saw him on gigantour fucking with dream theater on stage. Walking around talking to people. Coming out and sitting in the audience watching the show. Making it a point to get near someone with megadeath gear on… I don’t know….

Megadeth never really did much for me outside a couple songs on rust in peace, it’s probably time for me to back through their catalog though and try again.
I suggest their greatest hits album, Rust in Peace

too be fair the first time was because Dave could play guitar at that point, but he managed to "learn" to play again and restarted the band. Also nothing in his statement said that Megadeth is retiring/ending. He said last Album, Farewell tour .. no "we are done" .. 100% he will do what Slayer is doing

To be even fairer, you're absolutely right because not being able to sing(well) either never stopped him before!
