Is this an actual song or just a bunch of Teemu guitar solo lesson excerpts edited together?

Can't decide if the video is worse than the song....Or the song is worse than the video. But one thing is certain: both are well below average. I'm starting to think that we are all fortunate that this is the last Megadeth record.

You guys are high. Someone does a song that isn't about the "dark lord of the inner sanctum of your aorta" and it isn't a good song. You guys need some egg nog with a dollop of Dave's wine.

"Let there be Shred".... Dave plays prob the most bluesy lead in his catalog instead of his usual chaotic shreddy style, or was this his tribute to Kirk, all he needed was Wah on top. At least Teeeeemu brought some shred to the tune.

I'll bet Dave did that on purpose. He's always had a wry sense of humor.

I mean, it's goofy

But this is still way better than anything metallica has done in like 36 years

I would rather listen to the last half dozen dave albums for a year straight, and nothing else

Than try to make it through the whole 72 seasons or whatever it was called, which I couldnt even get through a single song without getting exhausted and bored

Is this "Holy Wars..." ? No, but it's not terrible at all, and if the lyrics were about something SUPER SERIOUS everyone would be saying its great

Metallica is a classic case of how to lose the plot.

Hmm, it'd be funny if true. I just don't think Dave has the humility to commit to such a joke on record though.

Can Dave can still manage all his old leads competently? I haven't listened to live Megadeth for a while though to hear if he's slowed down.
Just seems ironic to write a song called "Let there be Shred" where he has full permission to go crazy, but chose to play a bluesy boring lead.

It will be interesting to see his take on the RTL lead.

edit: I just recalled he did admit he was struggling during recording, hence the reason he made the call to end it after this album.

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree on this one. There are 3 or 4 songs alone on 72 Seasons that are stronger than this song. Just my opinion.
