Watched it last night. Pretty cool stuff.
Anyone else check it out?
Looked like all JVM's.
Good interviews. I always liked Dave.

Ive watched a few clips on Youtube. Great stuff. Even though there are tons of concert clips on youtube for nearly all bands, it seems so unusual anymore to see live music in a personal setting like this. I also like Dave. I was listening to the Cryptic Writings CD yesterday and damn..there are some really great songs on that one.

Yeah the "one on one" time with Dave was really cool. Liked that better then the mini set they did.

One my all time favorite Megadeth albums. Marty's playing was so killer on that record.

Just like Broderick has been doing for a couple years, Dave recently has been using the
Axe Fx-II live

Cool! Gonna have to watch this one. There's been some really shitty stuff on those Sessions...Grace Potter? Really? Nice legs, but not much else good going on there. And of course, leave it to Gibson to give her a signature guitar.

Can someone post the video? I would love to see it. Oh and Cryptic Writings is pure gold.
"There's A Secret Place"

Thanks for posting the vids. Man i love MegadetH but that tone was :aww:. I really miss Glen Drover.

i thought they sounded tight and accurate, in fact aside from the tone which was a little iffy my only change would have been Drover or Friedman in for Chris Broderick, he's a monster player but i'd much rather listen to Marty.

Really nice to see Angry Again live, first time i've seen them perform it and it sounded great

yeah, thought it was good but the tone was pretty bad...thin soundinh. Dave was very well spoken

Miss Drover? I never thought I would see that sentiment. Friedman spoiled us all,but Drover was my least favorite. Megadeth's tone on the Big 4 dvd is pretty awesome. I think they are dealing with the limitations of GC HW's vintage room.

they sounded AWESOME at yankee stadium last year; probably the best i've ever heard them (seen them twice with marty, twice with pitrelli, and once with drover before that). although something about broderick's style that doesn't quite mesh with the megadeth vibe to me. not that he's a bad player (maybe a tad overrated), just seems out of place. oh well.

Broderick is technically a monster player.. but I agree, just doesn't work for me. In fact, nobody has worked for me since Marty because nobody seems to be able to play Marty like Marty did. His leads seem to be too tricky for any of these guys to handle. His bends, timing, and stretches are just not common repertoire to shredders growing up on standard pentatonic or harmonic minor licks. Marty was frigging awesome. So happy I got to see him live with Megadeth.

I really love his solos in that era because they fit the songs so well and are learnable (albeit difficult) solos...and they are the type of solos you would WANT to learn. I understand Broderick is mega-talented but I just don't get inspired to try anything he's done.

Ah i really wish i could have seen the whole thing, No Direct TV though

Dont get me wrong Broderick is an awesome guitarist but i personally think both Pitrelli and Drover were better replacements. Marty is still the man though. Outside of Megadeth give me Chris Poland!

Technically, Broderick is the better player. Maybe that is why many have other favorites for the Megadeth gig.

Broderick doesn't seem to have any quirks that the other guys had because he is so technically proficient. I am fine with it and will take him over everyone but Marty. Marty only wins because of the quirks in his technique though. He has his own sound.

I also think Drover was a better backing vocalist too. That said I like Broderick he's a killer guitarist I'm just not crazy about his tone.
