Melvins ... Spoonman cover.

I can hear where Helmet and Tool got their influence on for sure. Excited to dig into this, as it's like a new band for me even thought hey have been around a long time. Good stuff so far!

I actually was gonna make this thread the other day and got distracted.. I know their influence in the northwest obviously, but I watched a NOLA documentary and Phil, Bower, Pepper and all them were going on how The Melvins changed everything for all them. i know ive checked out Gluey Porch and a couple others a long time ago in the limewire days but i guess none of it stuck, guess i gotta go listen again

well i listened to Gluey Porch, Ozma and Houdini for the first time in probably 20 years, and i probably only listened once then.. i understand now how in the late 80s when thrash was king they were a whole different thing that im sure translated even better live. its a little too riff salady for me to enjoy much these days but i get it

They always had too much esoteric shit for me to get into then in a big way. But when they formulate an actual song like Revolve or Hooch they sound great to me. Meaty.
I guess in a way I wish they would be more consistently, heavier variant of Clutch but with Buzzo’s vocals of course.
