Anyone use one? General thoughts/opinions? Anyone compare it to the thiele cab?

For reference, I'm talking about the original, deeper Recto 1x12 and not the thinner Mini-Recto 1x12s.

Looks like a nice deep cabinet and if it's rocking a V30 it'll probably sound good and record amazingly well. If the price is right I'd snap it up fast.

Have 2 for my small rack rig Triaxis simul 395...they sound good for cubes, stacked they are a nice 2x12.

I have a homebuilt copy of that cab with a v30. Sounds good, design is good. :)

Mesa still makes these. Don't know why you can't find any in stock. It seems the mini recto cabs are really popular right now.

They are selling the shit out of those mini rec cabs. They do look cool as hell for a little 1x12, but a lot of folks seem to prefer their other cabinet designs for sound quality.

I have one of those, but I have never owned a Thiele so I cannot give you a comparison. I don't even know what speaker is in it, got it used several years ago at Guitar Center for around $200-250.

It is part of my practice rig, I run a Marshall JVM1H through it. The cab sounds nice and is built very sturdy.

I have the mini rec 1x12 cab, looked awesome when I had a mini rectifier, but now that I have an RV25 head...it does look a little goofy.

How do they sound mic'd? Same basic vibe as a bigger Recto cab?

I already have a Standard 4x12 and 2x12... Looking for something more portable that still produces closed back thump.

Well with less cab volume they aren't going to thump like a 4x12 but they do sound really good IMO. I put tilt backs on mine for really low volume gigs but V30s can be harsh that way without turning the presence on the amp way down. They are pretty deep and chunky so they aren't the easiest to carry and fairly heavy for what they are. Think more closed back combo thump if that makes sense...

Cool. I have my 2x12 setup for tilt back so I know where you're coming from.

Cheers
